Well played, sir (or mam), well played.
1st time being 1st, today gonna be a good day!
I saw someone say Keita went to a "small school." As someone who went to NCWHS the same time Keita was at UHigh, and almost my entire friend group was people who went to UHigh and played basketball with Keita, it is not a typical "small school." He was recruited there by the coaching staff out of Junior High along with a couple other people that played there at the same time. That is very different from a small town school that gets who is in their district.
On a side note, every year a I did a "visit" to UHigh following my friends around amd spending the day at the school going to classes and what not. My junior year, Keita's senior year, I played a pickup game after school with Keita and some other UHigh kids and broke UHigh's starting PG's ankles so bad that Keita gave me a bear hug and carried me around the gym. I was sad when he went to OSU.
I don't think the size of UHigh matters. The question is, does Bloomington Normal count as small? They've certainly produced some good football players. I can't think of any basketball players, outside of KBD off the top of my head. Jonah Batumzee, his name is hard to spell.I saw someone say Keita went to a "small school." If you were around my year at any of the BN high schools and played sports we probably knew or at least knew of each other lol
Game on! Time to figure out if I know you.
All this waiting is killing me. I just want to know the final roster to know how excited to be for next season
Bloomington kid that went to Oregon and then transferred to SLU.. 6’9”.. graduated HS 2020..
That just shows how crazy recruiting and projecting to the next level are. Okoro was an okay college center. Nothing great. But a lot of us (myself included) freaked out when he chose Oregon over our Beloved.Bloomington kid that went to Oregon and then transferred to SLU.. 6’9”.. graduated HS 2020..
Francis Okoro. He underperformed but still was a pretty good player. If you were to keep the filter of P6 schools, I don't think he would be a positive to the small school kids. He played much better in St. Louis.Bloomington kid that went to Oregon and then transferred to SLU.. 6’9”.. graduated HS 2020..
the other BloNo schools.
I don’t know. I went to one of the true small schools in Bloomington-Normal during that time, but played club ball with a lot of the area kids during that time. However, club ball was for soccer and not basketball. If you were around my year at any of the BN high schools and played sports we probably knew or at least knew of each other lol
Played ball against Mike Wells (?) when he was qb at Uhigh. Good player kicked our butts so so at UofI from what I remember. But I'm old (obviously) so who knows.Jim Crews from Normal U High played for Knight at IU. Same class as Quinn Buckner.
Bob Bender from Blooming High School played at IU, transferred to Duke. Henson tried to recruit him.
Pretty confident Mike Wells was Normal CommunityPlayed ball against Mike Wells (?) when he was qb at Uhigh. Good player kicked our butts so so at UofI from what I remember. But I'm old (obviously) so who knows.
