Isn't that kind of thing now. Didn't Nigel pack have a 2 year deal from all the reported NIL reports when he chose Miami? It may not be official but I think this is happening. I'm pretty sure Hunter a$$ clown talked about different compensation models with Kansas depending on if he stayed both of his eligible years. player quality will dictate that

The freedom to move does cause some chaos but I think it's necessary. So I have to learn a few new names each year and may lose some good players that I wanted (ahem Adam Miller and jayden Epps)... Better than forcing someone to stay in a bad situation, imo. Plus what else are we gonna talk about in the off season? (Other than cottage cheese)
I think multi-year deals for transfers will be accepted and even welcomed very easily.

I think the freshmen deals are the sticking point.

The pros have a draft and rookie contract limits that put some sanity in the system. Those guardrails don't exist in college sports.

I don't think those 'guardrails' will be put in place for college sports unless there's some sort of collective bargaining process that's agreed to by all parties. Players in the NBA accept the rookie salary scale as part of the webs of tradeoffs that they've agreed to in the CBA -- they take less for the promise of more later, primarily because the CBA is negotiated by and for veteran players. The NBA hasn't been able to put the burden of managing risk on young players unilaterally.

In college, as long as teams are not bound to the same set of rules you're not going to see anything like that. You can try to lowball a freshman based on your perceived risk, but as long as some team like Arkansas is standing right there with a bottomless pit of Walton money and zero concern for spending it 'poorly' you'll get outbid, and you'll lose out. If everyone isn't on board, nobody will be.

I'm no expert, but at 6'10", that looks pretty darn good. Obviously, no clue how that translates with real game speed and pressure.
Impressive shooting but not great in vert test and pro lane drill. I imagine his performance in 5v5 will go a long way in determining what threads he sports next year.

Feel like the only things that matter at the combine are the interviews and the 5 on 5. I think most NBA players are shooting 70% from 3 in drills with no defenders.

Agree 100%. Believe I used to shoot 90% FT's and 60% from three ---- with no defenders and no fans.

I guess the vertical jump might also be telling......

Agreed for the most part. Coleman's athletic #'s were not great, but he shot it well.
Shannon tested pretty well athletically. Running was good, but the vert was not good as expected.
5 on 5 will say a lot. Coleman will likely do well to come back to school though imo. Risking getting picked in the 50s would not be smart

Everyday that goes by without a ray j commitment is not a good day
I think that we were being primed for something to happen back in mid April, the the end of April, the the first Sunday in May, now later this week we'll get news...

Then it was going to be both CoHawk and TSJ coming back with the addition of RayJ, then it was TSJ with the addition of RayJ and now it's TSJ maybe staying in the draft and RayJ taking visits.

Just grab some popcorn, sit back, watch it unfold and let the chips fall where they may.

the counter is that the guys we want are in really high demand. wouldn't have it any other way. we also want our guys moving on to the pros (but at the "right" time). to your point, whatever happens, happens

I was surprised to see Shannon’s max vert not at ~40+

As far as Coleman goes, I think if he has any belief he is getting drafted or has a late second round guarantee I think pretty confidently he will take that chance

If I remember correctly Malcolm Hill and Joe Bertrand had 36-37” vertical leaps at the end of their careers. It’s a flawed metric. Bertrand was bouncy, Shannon is explosive, and I bet that Hawkins would beat his vertical leap if they measured it on put back dunks. Hill, I have no idea. I think the person measuring was drunk that day.

TSJ has NBA athleticism speed and strength. Better athlete than Ayo IMO.
Hope he gets a chance at some point to make a roster and contribute.
Needs a lot of skill set work both sides of ball but has the raw talent.

CH shot form and arc looked better in that video than in season. I think he has a chance to move up the board a little if he does well in scrimmage.

I'm confident in saying the staff already has someone lined up if Coleman stays in. But unless Coleman lights the world on fire in the 5 v 5 I think he should come back
Do you have any indication of whether Coleman & family would feel the same way, or is he particularly eager to roll the dice?
