Nojus: we backed off because his play was so-so (relative to before) and there are several kids we like better, who the staff sees as gettable. I think he'll be an impact player at ISU, but probly not immediately

Thanks. As for Nojus, I think he's a better player than earlier. Coaches certainly wanted the ball in his hands today.

I agree. But his so-so play was cause for concern and tapping the brakes was warranted, IMO.

Morez Johnson is one of my favorite ilini recruits in a long time
A lot of Kofi-like traits to like with Morez, will be an elite Illini. can't wait.

Put me in the really optimistic camp. Even just getting Coleman and TSJ back would be massive if we take some of the chatter about team chemistry being our biggest issue last year at face value … and I do. We could be good. If we get all three, I think we could be VERY good. Even if we get none, we have some young returning pieces that I love, and I’ll enjoy watching them grow.
One very underrated addition is a full year of Goode. That honestly could have made a world of difference at points last year.

has to demonstrate the ability to hit mid-range shots consistently and has to make an immediate transition to high major ball. FWLIW, I think the latter is a near given. That said, 2 years is more likely than 1.
Hmmmm. I maybe missed it as was traveling all day Friday, but when did the RayJ thing go from we pried him away from Utah with a wheelbarrow full of money to Baylor now has a shot at him and we are not clearly in lead?

My guess is, the negotiation is ongoing.
He added Utah in the mix to get more NIL $$$ from IL.
After getting a bigger bag offer from IL, he’s now in conversations with Baylor to see if they can match.
If Baylor matches, that increases his negotiation power with IL.
Seems like he’s leading on multiple schools to line up the most NIL dollars possible.
