I’m not even the biggest Brad Stan, but I’m totally fine with pushing your chips in on the highest upside player assuming you have a reasonable chance and there aren’t roughly equivalent alternatives out there.

There’s only 1 national champion, and I would rather push for a player that maximizes are chances of being that rather than playing it safe and settling for a player that might help us advance an additional round or win a few more big ten games.

I am also no basketball genius but had a similar thought about Harris. The effort, energy, defense and pace this kid played at as a freshman was impressive. It’s fair to assume neither he nor Epps are finished products and can grow into a bona fide college PG. No?
Love the enthusiasm but I do not want Harris starting next year and Epps plays for Georgetown.

The second RayJ took another visit … I’m calling Caleb Love …

But that’s just how I would handle it …

I get passing on Cone and Sallis because waiting on RayJ makes sense when those guys committed early but when Love opened back up … We should have pursued …
Then you don’t have CH or TSJ back with that move.

Last year we were one of the youngest and most inexperienced teams in the country, this year we will be old and experienced. Find a solid pg to get people the ball in the right spots and lets let our future pros show why we wanted them back so badly
No we weren't. We started Senior-Super Senior-Junior-Redshirt Sophomore-Sophomore by the end of the season. That is not particularly young, three of those players are back (thank god) and two are gone. At the start of last season, it looked like we had 4 Super Freshman that were all Big Ten ready caliber players that we were all stoked about. Well, two of those left (the two that could play the position we no longer have anyone on the roster capable of playing), the other two are still there, but can't shoot so we are crossing our fingers heavily that they've improved in that facet in order to be real offensive contributors at a Big Ten level.

I’ve been living under a rock and just realized Epps is gone. I may be the rare Harris-stan around here, but I’ve been a believer in the kid since the UCLA game. If he works on his handles and playmaking and just gets a click better in each area, I could live with him being average in those areas to get the category 5 defense and tenacity on the floor.

I said this a few days ago and I'll say it again. Am I wrong to be a little disappointed in what Chester is giving us? The only HS recruits he has gotten us are Epps (who already transferred), Harris, and Hansberry. The only transfer that I can think of that we have even been in on that was a Chester lead was Brandon Murray last year.
