So someone has to get the axe in order for us to anyone else now right?

Is our roster now set or are things still in motion?

Clearly we aren’t done yet. I like the add. Summer with Fletch will get him back on track. Would I prefer a guard that can shoot it better? Sure… but he does everything else well and I love how good of an on ball defender he is… That was a problem for our younger guards last year

Can you or someone clue me in on why people are still enamored of Love (outside of that tourney performance two years ago)? Had a bad a/TO ratio, shot under 30% from 3 and under 40% total, scored 16 pts on 15 spg, and couldve been a problem chemistry wise given its widely reported he hooked up with a teammates gf.

I feel like brad wouldve been roasted on here just as bad if he picked up Love with Ray J on the table.

But i certainly could be missing something. Wouldnt be the first time LOL
When Love entered the portal the first time the insiders laughed at the idea of even giving him the time of day, which I and most level headed posters agreed with.

Brutal if we're expecting anything from a guy coming off an achilles injury to be our starting PG/a major contributor at all. Oh and he needs a waiver to be immediately eligible? Plus we now have to crean someone to add an actual PG? Disaster from Brad on the PG position.

Lol come on dude… like this isn’t a good player. Just stop.
He has good size. A strong defender.. As a freshman he avg 9 at Temple and started every game but one. I also like the fact he may be able to have 3 years remaining. I'm fine with this add if we are able to add another PG. We aren't even sure Williams can play this year being his second transfer, right?

I think it’s a fine addition, but he’s just not even comparable to a player like RayJ. RayJ raises the ceiling of the team tremendously, he was the player of the year in one of the best non-P6 conferences. Williams was just another dude on …Temple. I feel like all he does is give us an excuse to add another combo guard instead of a desperately needed pure point.

I can’t believe some people are hyping it up. Just call it what it is. A reach because we struck out. If our starting point guard is Ty Rodgers Brad should be embarrassed for not putting his players in the best position possible.

You know what's going to be a bad look is our play on the floor unless we send someone back to Italy where they came from, but I have no idea who
Yeah no I totally get it and don't mind the add as long as we can make another add that is more of a piece for this year in a way that won't affect us negatively down the road.

If we are going to gain some baggage or have some sour opinions of us going around in recruiting circles because of how we open up a spot I would have preferred passing on Williams for the piece that will for sure help us this year

Just an interesting 24 hours that's for sure

That he enjoys baseball at a competitive level he won't get in park district? I get the sports parents cliche, but that ain't us.
I'm with you. My daughter was playing travel softball at 10, because SHE WANTED TOO. The only pressure she got came from her desire to play competitively. Just graduated from a D1 after being on softball scholarship for 4 years.

Sounds like we are adding Williams as a depth piece and are looking to add another guard, which means we will need to run someone off.

Most likely candidate seems to be Harmon as most other guys are already with the team. Absent a transcript or some other issue which is preventing Harmon from coming, can someone explain to me how Williams is an upgrade from Harmon? I get that Williams has up to 3 years of eligibility remaining but he needs a waiver to play this year and highly likely he needs at least another year to get back anywhere close to 100% anyway. All our roster moves thus far have screamed win now. And if we are in win now mode I don’t see any way that Williams is preferable to Harmon.

Tore his Achilles in October, hasn't played since 2-24-2022, serious floor spacing concerns in a lot of lineups that have him out there when you have TSJ, Hawkins, Dainja, Rodgers and Shannon that should all be getting time.

I guess it is what it is, a desperation Plan B, good luck and hopefully he can contribute.

I assume he will get a waiver since he sat out the entire year, but we will see. Hopefully as I saw stated, this is a depth/long-term option and we are still going to pickup a veteran PG that is ready to play. Unlike a lot of people on here, I am just going to wait to see the final roster before I proclaim the world is on fire. I did not expect to get 2 NBA guys back when the season ended, so I view it as the staff is doing a fine job this offseason and missing on one guy happens.
