Shoot, if we miss the NCAA tournament I imagine heads will roll. It would have echoes of Weber: a spike of success followed by a slow decline.NIT or NCAA?

40% on low volume. DWill was low 50% as aMy concern is that we're going to have a 40% free throw shooter at the line in the last two minutes of a game.
He'll probably end up at Baylor or Utah
and Tyler takes over as head coach?NIT …
Soooo if we do not make second weekend- Underwood is out???2nd weekend … Or calls will be made …
That seems a bit rash. I could see him being out if they miss the tournament, but I feel like a second round exit would buy him one more year but it would be a very hot seat.Soooo if we do not make second weekend- Underwood is out???

I’ll say it again: if you’re a fan, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to focus on the tournament as your measure of success and failure. If you’re an AD, tossing out the results of 188 games and making your judgments on five is severely lacking in prudence. That seems a bit rash. On the other hand he could post up opposing PGsYeah, the elephant in the room is that Ty without a 3pt shot would probably pack the paint and be a disaster for spacing. Kinda sad to see an early ranking of 6th in the conference, but I can follow his thinking. Biggest question is PG, but also 3 pt shooting from last year was awful, and you wonder how much that will change.
Phoenix Gill is in highschool, summer before his junior year, I thought Rabid made a joking comparison of father and son at equal points in their (highschool) basketball careerLULwhut?!?
Soph Year:
- 10.4 PPG
- 4.2 APG
- 2.0 SPG
- 75% FT
- 29 mins/game
Dudes gotta be the winningest coach on a hot seat of all timeCurrently...

Name checks out...Currently...

The amount of resources that Whitman has poured into the program, in addition to a brand new practice facility, the history of success at Illinois, the recruiting territory we have, our universities network, etc... The list goes on as to why our program can and needs to be better. Brad HAS to have to tourney success. Shoot, even Brad's own rhetoric says the same thingLet me introduce you to a man named John Calipari … Rick Barnes was pretty dang good … Fired …
Regular season is not what we play for … Sure getting that Big Ten championship is nice but if that’s the bar for “winning” then that’s a pretty low bar for how much talent we’ve had …
Tournament success … All that matters …
I agree with this. But my read on the situation is that missing the tournament is more like the final straw vs the sole reason JW would make that move. I imagine the off court stuff like flirting with other programs, booster relations, player retention, and other issues that haven't been talked about on here are all contributing factors in addition to the on court results.I’ll say it again: if you’re a fan, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to focus on the tournament as your measure of success and failure. NIT or NCAA?

FWIW I, personally, don't think next year should be any kind of make or break year but I really do trust JW to do what's best for this program so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Is muss really an option? Why would he leave Arkansas for us when he has unlimited Walmart NIL and is already recruiting nationally and in a big time conference. I could be missing part of the equationNext year is make or break … When you’ve got guys like Sean Miller, Eric Musselman and others that would be interested … Boosters willing to support a move if it’s necessary …
It makes making a move a little easier …
