Funny you would say that. Just got off the gulf. Got caught in a pop up thunderstorm as did a dozen or so other boats. I definitely was looking for some place, any place to tie up.RE: Point Guard
Any port in a storm.

Not sure on "clearly best coach..."....but he is HOF good and has recently Nat Championship...last year.Self shows how hard it is to win in the tournament. He’s clearly the best coach in college hoops and he’s out early pretty often.
In his $90,000 suburban?I was reading an April 5 article referring to Kriisa's decision to go to West Virginia, Kriisa alluded to the old truck Bob Huggins drove,
He said "When I saw him driving that truck, I knew he was loyal. If we can get him here on a visit, BU should take him around campus in his truck.
They failed the players by not dealing with the coach that they chose to go play for?It is not just the coaching change, it is looking like a roster make over. Kerr or none of the other transfers signed up for this. The university failed the players by not dealing with the coach earlier. Kerr hasn't played a minute with WVU...he needs to be given a free transfer.
Self is a good coach but is far from the best. His KU teams have dominated the Big 12 and some of those teams got bounced earlySelf shows how hard it is to win in the tournament. He’s clearly the best coach in college hoops and he’s out early pretty often.
Yeah I’m gonna have to go with Bill. Dudes ran some of the best offense since he’s been in the gameS

Currently the best coach is Izzo because of the sustained superior performance. He takes teams that are not good further than what seems possible but even some of his good teams underperform
Same. But can't go wrong with either. Hot take but I'm taking both of those coaches over K, Roy, or Cal.Yeah I’m gonna have to go with Bill. Dudes ran some of the best offense since he’s been in the game
He's underrated on the bench side of things for sure.Yeah I’m gonna have to go with Bill. Dudes ran some of the best offense since he’s been in the game
Who would place above him? Guys won the conference 95 percent of the time he’s coached. Has two national titles. So many guys in the argument have left the game recently. Not sure on "clearly best coach..."....but he is HOF good and has recently Nat Championship...last year.
The investigation and Asst Coaches should have done him in a few years ago...but he has a ton of respect in NCAAB world....and his success may have gotten him some grace with investigation.
I guess the question with guys like Krissa, Jesse Edwards, and Raequan Battle is when does the transfer officially take place? Is is when they sign their financial aid agreement? Or is it when they attend class?I think two issues are being conflated here. As I read the rules:
1) Players have 30 days to enter a special transfer portal if their head coach changes.
2) Players will not be given a free transfer due to the coaching change.
Combined, this seems to say that when a head coaching change occurs, players who have not previously used their free transfer are free to transfer and play immediately. Those who have already used their free transfer would need to sit.
I could be wrong.

We ran "2 play" til the cows came home in high school. Never realized there was a connection to Kansas.View attachment 26609

Yeah, he’s pretty slick. Good stuff. Play 2 is helluva wrinkle/counter IMO
I really like Morez, but he’s not a top 10-20 recruit. He’s about where Ayo, Miller, Clark, and Kofi came in. Very good, but not particularly unusual during BU’s tenure.Question for the few in the loop. We have Morez coming in next year. Guys like that don’t come to Champaign often, is that really a player BU would be willing to walk away from if he feels the heat getting too hot? Seems like that would be a kid that could save your behind and you can’t assume TA is following you to “greener pastures”.
I only ask, because a few have alluded to BU’s agent sniffing around this past offseason.

Yeah, I completely agree with you. That incident was probably the darkest day for the program and something the team and Weber was never able to recover from. I too can only think "what if" regarding that terribly sad event. Jamar was the purest shooter I've seen in an Illini uniform, and the deadeye shot Bruce's later year teams seemed to be lacking. I mean for whatever posters think of Bruce's teambuilding, can you imagine that should have been 2009 team? The Jamar Smith incident is what torpedoed Bruce. He would have coached at Illinois for a long time had that not happened. He would have carried on and possibly cemented the narrative that Illinois is where guards that can shoot come to flourish. I have watched Illinois religiously since 1982, and Jamar, for me, is the biggest “what if”… not only for him as a player, but also for the program at the time.
Self is without a doubt a great coach but those are pretty basic sets. You have one setup and then a varied counter as a defense adjusts to take it away.View attachment 26609

I like Morez and it seems like he's trending up but his high ranking is sitting at 43 overall. Illinois is in range for recruits in that range all the time.Question for the few in the loop. I was just quickly scrolling thru, I thought he was uniformly in the low 20’s and moving up, I’ve see him anywhere from 24-57. I stand corrected.I really like Morez, but he’s not a top 10-20 recruit. He’s about where Ayo, Miller, Clark, and Kofi came in. Very good, but not particularly unusual during BU’s tenure.
Brad us the only coach in America with recruiting connections. Good point. If you fire BU, you basically fire his assistants. They aren't returning under a new coach. Frazier and Anderson have enormous ties to critical recruiting areas and contacts(especially Anderson). That automatically sets you back for a period of time. Then, if you're a prospective coach and you know that you're job could be in jeopardy, regardless of regular season success....what's the lure of being here?

If he needs an old truck, he can drive mine for however long it takes. AC, radio, 4WD, heater, windows all work. Runs fine. Good tires. I will need a similar truck while he has mine.In his $90,000 suburban?
That was before my time in school so maybe it was different but I always thought it was weird that they lived in Savoy. Lived next to a bunch of football players and other athletes and it was extremely rare for anyone other than grad students to live off campus.Yeah, I completely agree with you. PG: Chester Frazier (Sr)
PG: Demetri McCamey (So)
SG: Jamar Smith (Sr)
PF: Mike Davis (So)
C: Mike Tisdale (So)
6th Man: SG Trent Meacham (Sr)
Instead we lose Jamar Smith, a high volume 48% 3pt shooter as a freshman, and B10 All defense Chester Frazier breaks his wrist before the tourney. That team could've gone on a deep deep run. But sad reality is all you get when you get behind the wheel drunk and almost kill a teammate. That moment was indeed the beginning of the end of the Weber tenure, and the fall of our team from grace, all due to a decision that never should have happened. What if indeed.
You ignored him without ignoring him...weird.I ignored you after this comment so I won't see your reply I guess but how would firing BU put us back to Groce era? You really think a Groce level coach is the best Josh could do as a replacement? Have you been paying attention to the other coaches he's hired? I am not arguing for firing BU but to say firing him sets us back that far is laughable. Yes, this is my first post, so flame away.
