Rez looking good early, first two points of the game was a slam. He is up against a monster of a big this game, guy is huge!
He's really impacting the game in a variety of ways. He had an offensive rebound that he turned into a score +1 (and hit the FT). Then next time down he made the right play and kicked out to a teammate in the corner when his defender sagged down, and the teammate hit a 3. Those two sequences really highlighted his complete game for me.

And he sets a great high screen on p&r with either Nojus or K.J.

Meanstreet guards have never seen a shot that they didn't like geez!

KJ is shooting like 40% from 3 … That’s green light territory if you ask me …
He damn sure didn't hit 40% today!! They collapsed on MJ everytime the ball hit his hands. The guards couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. The New York team had at least four kids as tall or taller than MJ. There size eventually wore Meanstreets down

The bench wasn’t too effective either, every time they subbed out the starters they seems to give up the lead.

Did Nojus play? Maybe I have the wrong team

As you can tell from the lack of a final score, Mean Streets was eliminated by New York Renaissance.

Still an amazing showcase for Morez Johnson who should continue to ascend the rankings.
What was his statline?

I am unable to respond directly to the posts since they're in the previous (now closed) recruiting thread, but I wanted to comment on this narrative that Illinois is elite with our NIL. Seems it is being thrown around that we should basically have our pick of the lot with recruits and transfers due to our huge NIL budget.

However, I do recall it was one or more of Indy/0440/LVille that essentially said Zyon Pullin was "far too expensive for us"? If a player like Zyon Pullin is too expensive, then it would seem we're actually more behind the eight ball with NIL than it is an advantage for us. I'm not really saying anything here other than I wish the NIL numbers were all completely public and being tracked so that I would have some idea of where we sit.
If you are commenting on my insider view of collectives, this is not entirely true. I did not say we have a bottomless pit of money to draw upon. I said that how Guardians and ICON go about their business is seen as one of the industry leaders. We are not behind the 8 ball in the NIL era because of the collectives. When it is funded even better, we have the right people leading this stuff.

LOL, very accurate! I've been an Illini fan for 50 years, for my lifetime we've been a basketball program with a few sparks in football. I still watch and root for our Illini in football. I guess the difference for me is if I can't catch the game live, I'll record and watch basketball games but not football (if they win).
