Did they also adjust the tampering calendar?
Terrible idea. If they make it 30 days it cannot start 1 day before the championship game. Personally I think it would be best to be 30 days following the deadline to withdraw from the NBA draft.

Fit seems to be a big deal to Underwood based on last years performance. A pile of talent doesn’t help you if they don’t mesh. He seems to like this kid, likely does the things Brad is looking for and might be a good fit. Who knows?

That timing just doesn't make sense... Why would they open the portal during the actual tourney? And then have it open for only 30 days so that it coincides with the end of the NBA season and start of the 1st round of the playoffs and ending before the draft combine? Only rationale explanation here is to not allow NCAA players to dip their toes in the water to see their pro stock value. Just all-around weird to me. And even if you do want to cut Portal Kombat down, why not just open it a few days after the National Championship to not disadvantage the Final Four teams and so you don't distract from your cash cow event? Just weird... But hey, it's the NCAA...
I take it to mean that players will have only 30 days to enter the portal. Players will not be expected to finalize their transfer in that period. And players testing the NBA waters should enter the portal when they declare for the draft should going to a new school even be a remote option.

Yea that's why it would be terrible. Every single player that enters the draft will also enter the portal. Why wouldn't you? It will only make the current problem worse. Need to wait until after the deadline to withdraw so players have some idea of who they will be competing with for playing time, NIL, etc.
Its actually a very clever balancing mechanism. Teams that don't make the tournament, or bow out early can start recruiting transfers in earnest sooner.
