Two questions: 1) I'm curious why the older Fears recruitment isn't hurting us with the younger Fears? 2) What is resonating with younger Fears about Illinois?
It might not be directly applicable to this situation but never underestimate how good coaches are in general about pitching to kids. Sure, some bridges cannot be unburned, but these dudes are elite car salesmen.

some also know their big brother was told there would be transfers that never occurred making more of time split than expected. They also may know their brother already has one foot out the door depending on how things go.
There's also the simple fact that brothers are different. The Zeller brothers were all big time recruits that had their pick of most colleges, one went to North Carolina, one to Indiana, one to Notre Dame. Just happens.

Siblings can differ on how they see the world. BU: As an unproven freshman, your brother came in demanding a whole pile of money, and the immediate keys to my wife. You can understand why I might hesitate. Now if you come here, and show what you can do, the keys to the team, and NIL money are there to be had.

Man, recruiting has changed in the portal era...
So just to be clear, if we allow the hypothetical high end recruit to free your wife from being chained up in your basement, said recruit also gets to play college ball for us?

You must really like your wife. I know some guys who wouldn't hesitate one bit.
Either that or she is actually hell on earth, and the shackles @grue2 put on her are the only thing saving us from Armageddon... Yeah, that sounds like Illini luck- land the #1 recruiting class in the country with multiple 5 stars only to find out we opened a portal to hell and the season had to be canceled...
I always figured when the Cubs won the WS it would open a portal to hell, but 2016 came and.... (stops to consider the last 7 years...)
