Usually Trent, but if I'm really hungry that might change. You taking Trent Frazier (outside top 100) or Rich McBridge (28) in a draft?
I grew up near you. I ran into Lou in a line at the bank once and had a nice chat.
He tries to avoid contact instead of creating it. If he would body up his opponent, he’d be able to finish better.I like Dain but he goes to fast for his own good at times. He was our most efficient scorer because 90% of his shots are at the rim. He relies on his spin move too much and often times he looks off balance and awkward when he is finishing his shot causing him to miss more of those than he should. They need to get him to make sure he stays under control while making those moves so he gets an and 1 situation instead of two missed free throws. He's got the size there is no reason why he can't also develop some classic post moves like Crowl from Wisconsin. It would benefit him to have more than one option when he gets the ball in the low post. This is why people are already thinking he will be behind Morez and Amani next year imo.
Nothing to do with his basketball ability, though, which was through the roof. Poor guy was just a total headcase.
Loved Courtney Lee. Good to see him get some appreciation. Had a decent NBA career too.Ranking the Most Overlooked College Basketball Recruits in the Last Decade
Davidson's Stephen Curry is by far the most famous of the overlooked "recruits" of the past decade, but men's college basketball has been littered with diamonds in the rough that have shone nearly as bright...syndication.bleacherreport.com
Watching him and Jase get Fletched is going to be fun. Love this class. Character and integrity.
Listening to Underwood sounds like he isn't planning on adding Jeremiah Fears to this class. Insiders?
I saw Tisdale play in high school once....and couldn't believe how skinny he was, how weak he was and how plodding he was. He got pushed around by a 6-5 center. Credit to Tisdale for getting strong enough to play successfully in the Big Ten.I mostly agree with you, but I don't think there was any chance Lieb was going to be a Tisdale. Tisdale seems to be underrated by some. He was good. On the right team, he probably would have been much more highly regarded, IMO.
Agree on Tisdale being under rated. Scored 1K points. Believe he held the school blocks record until Nanna broke it. Probably could have been Pitsnogle with a more imaginative coach. But roster construction was poor. He and MD were both good players individually but didn’t complement each other at all. Tisdale needed to be paired with a big bruising 4. But he still had a solid career for a beam pole from Riverton.I saw Tisdale play in high school once....and couldn't believe how skinny he was, how weak he was and how plodding he was. Jase is already halfway Fletched … That dude will be a MONSTER by the time Fletch is done with him …
As for Jakstys … The plan is to redshirt him unless he comes in during the summer and goes crazy …

I absolutely confused myself with DJ Williams and Henry. Which is sad because I was at the Grizzlies game when Henry first got to play.Dj Williams did?? I don't remember that.
Nope, confused myself. RT got me on the right track with Henry haha.Did he really? Can't seem to find anything on that. Always thought he had the measurables but couldn't put it all together.
Also, he was an excellent FT shooter and could even nail a 3 from time to time.Agree on Tisdale being under rated. Scored 1K points. Believe he held the school blocks record until Nanna broke it. Not that kind of J Pru...
It's intentional. Dain is trying to avoid the free throw line.He tries to avoid contact instead of creating it. If he would body up his opponent, he’d be able to finish better.

Not sure about Kaminsky. I think he was just over looked. Weber passed on VanVleet but not because he was focused other guards. Same with Ulis. "Everyone" was thinking he was too small for big ten. There is no crowd that says "rankings don't matter." However, there is a crowd that says "rankings are not the end-all be-all" and "guys outside the top 100 can still be good/great."
You taking Trent Frazier (outside top 100) or Rich McBridge (28) in a draft? Coleman Hawkins or Omar Payne? Andres Feliz or Adam Miller? Trent Meacham or Crandall Head? I could keep going, but you get the point. Just b/c a guy is rated #35 (cough, Skyy, cough) doesn't mean he's a better add for our program than a guy outside the top 100 (a la DGL).
How many great Illinois players did we let leave the state primarily b/c we were more focused on higher rated players that ended up not being as good? Fred VanVleet. Ulis. Kaminsky. The list is a long one. Sure, the higher the rating, the greater the probability of success, but it's slight up until a certain point. People act like this is a science that is way more cut and dry than it is.
Why would you randomly bring up Northwestern like that?Little brother .
Therein lies half the funI know this post will draw a fair share of ridicule, but it is always interesting to read anonymous posts about what is wrong with the recruiting decisions of our coaching staff or the play of our players written by a bunch of guys who had to buy a ticket to get close to the court after their high school or noon at the Y career was over.
