Sounds like Chester is getting good traction it there. Can anyone give me a breakdown of the other assistants and how they are doing recruiting? I don't have a good grasp on the current roster behind Brad and what they do well/not so well.

I'll give you a compact summary based on what I've seen publicly written and said about the assistants. Maybe someone else can go into greater detail or correct any misstatements. I'm sure that the lines between these guys and their roles are not so clear cut.

Chester - Considered to have future head coach potential. Works hard with guards. Strong recruiting connections in mid-Atlantic region, where's he's from. Recognized as a guy who finds less heralded recruits with potential across the nation. See: Amani Hansberry (from Baltimore), Jayden Epps (from Norfolk), Sencire Harris, and Jase Butler.

Tim - Recruiting connections in Chicago, and one might say to the high-profile club basketball world, as a Chicago native and through his prior work with the Meanstreets AAU club and as a respected trainer of NBA players. Key to the recruitment of high-profile players Morez Johnson, Ty Rodgers, Skyy Clark; and from powerhouse basketball academy, Montverde, Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn. I believe he has led the recruitments of the Fears brothers (Joliet and top 50), as well. I read that he was first to identify Jakstys in the Chicago area.

Geoff - A former player at Western Illinois while Underwood was an assistant coach, it's been written he's an Xs and Os, evaluator, and scouting guy. He has recruited international players Moretti and Perrin.

The two newest additions are Zach Hamer and Brad's son, Tyler, who were elevated to assistant coach titles this year when the NCAA expanded coaching staff numbers from 4 to 6. Only four coaches are permitted to recruit off campus; for us, that's the head coach and the three listed above.

As far as which assistants are leading recruitments of 2025 players: I don't know, though I make assumptions when I look down the 247 offer list based on the descriptions above. Of course, there is the occasional "Chet found another one" headline on Loyalty. What about Phoenix Gill? Hopefully, Kendall Gill is leading that recruitment ;)

I was at the game. Morez is extremely intelligent on the court. He was dominant. His stats would have been better had
not St. Charles triple teamed him. Thornton is really good. Great three point shooting and great athleticism. Morez smart enough
to put his off hand behind his back when guarding (running alongside) the dribbler down the court. Allowed him to stay right up on the opponent without
bumping. I've never seen a kid do that before. Very smart kid, barking orders to his teammates like a second coach on the floor.
I will be there to watch Thorton play Peoria Richwoods tomorrow night. He may become our highest rated recruit
by time the last HS player rankings come out. :)

imagine how good Morez would be if he had Nick Irvin coaching him instead of Streets
