definitely think he can play alongside Morez. I expect it's gonna happen a lot, once JJ is ready. a year with Fletch and practicing with/against high major bigs should be huge for his development. like Hawkins, the kid is kind of a unicorn (obviously needs polishing). he has a very complementary skill set to more traditional bigs
JJ is one of those guys , that if we didn’t take him , he’d end up at Wiscy, Purdue or Iowa , averaging 16 pts & 8 rebounds for a couple years

This kid had "Wisconsin next great white big man" written all over him. So I'm thrilled we got him and get to polish his game over the next couple of years. Kid has a very modern basketball type of game, a skilled and overall very high ceiling. He may not even be done growing.

Are you implying the growth plates are still open?

I love how every white kid is the next great Wisconsin player. If he was higher ranked, it would have been the next great Duke player.

🤣 The urban legend of the "open growth plates" will never die with us Illini fans!!!

Now it makes me wonder....who was the player/recruit that started this trend many years ago? I'm guessing it was Roger Powell or someone around that era, but my brain is failing me as I age.

Isn’t Boswell not even starting for AZ now? Haven’t followed too closely since his hot start but looked like his production took a nosedive.
Boswell skipped his senior year and should be a freshment right now and is averaging about 10 pts. Has a very grounded game, heavy on fundamentals and teamwork. Last year he was the youngest player in college basketball and even this year he has a late birthday and is about the same age of some current Sr. top 25 bballers. My comparison is more to a Jalen Brunson, I hope he stays in college bball a couple of years to develop eventhough he may get drafted on potential. Biggest critique is physical developement, once again just 18 and he will get slender with more muscle as years go by.

Glad to see his game is different than Morez and Hansberry. Would like to see a Coleman type player. As we are seeing, 5th year players are making a huge differecne in college basketball. If he needs a redshirt to get him to that point and team and JJ are patient, possibly can see him be a rotaton type player in 2-3 years.

They bed on mobile but on on a desktop browser. It started a month or two ago. I suspect X made changes to their API as part of their alleged efforts to reduced the amount of data scraped from a Twitter for free.

But don't quote me on that. It's a lightly-educated guess.
