nice to be having legit shots at Indiana kids:
our staff has no recruiting boundaries and that's refreshing. so refreshing.

we owe OSU one, big time, for EJ. hope it happens soon. and, no, it isn't Harris. love him, but he isn't a big enough fish
Neither did Groce's staff, and everyone complained about it and how they needed to lock down our own borders.

The key difference is that this staff is actually good at recruiting.

there's no choice anymore. The best talent goes to these prep schools and bounces from school to school. If you stick with just Illinois now, you're not left with much. That said, many of the guys they go after are local guys, they're just not playing locally.

true, but wasn't suggesting we should return to IL kids over everyone else. the only thing I was saying is that it's great that we are getting serious consiration from top Indiana kids now.

BTW, Reynolds' sis plays for Purdue. He already has a slew of VG offers (PU, MSU, ND, OSU, ...). But it's great that he's visiting

Any ideas what Indy was hinting at the other day...? Asking for a friend...

Edey and Kofi are once in a generation players. Dare we forget?

In fairness, Edey wasn’t nationally ranked out of high school and Kofi was a top 50 prospect. Edey also doesn’t move particularly well. For my money, I’d take Clingan over Edey all day. Would take Ballo at Arizona over him too. I’d really rather keep recruiting kids like Coleman and Morez who can move and fit the “positionless” mold more. Makes us so much more dangerous IMO.

Will be interesting to see if Painter’s newest one is just as troublesome. Daniel Jacobsen from Brewster Academy.

I think his point was that we picked up all three of those guys when we supposedly were after "everyday" guys. Hopefully we've got things figured out now. Obviously, we won't always call it right, but last year was particularly bad.
