I mean, Dee and Deron were both considered top PGs when they committed to us in the same year. That worked out pretty well for everybody.
I remember someone asked Self if it was wise to take two PGs in the same class. He replied something like ā€œas long as one of them is 6ā€™3ā€. Oh and the other one was Dee Brown soā€¦

Did no realize Rutgers had a banner recruiting class coming in.

Here are the Scarlet Knightsā€™ five recruits in the 2024 class:

  • Guard Dylan Harper: Five stars, No. 2 overall
  • Forward Ace Bailey: Five stars, No. 3 overall
  • Forward Lathan Sommerville: Three stars, No. 124 overall
  • Forward Bryce Dortch: Three stars, No. 137 overall
  • Forward Dylan Grant: Three stars, No. 159 overall

The Scarlet Knightsā€™ five-member recruiting class is now ranked No. 3 nationally by 247Sports' Composite rankings, behind only perennial powers Duke and Kentucky.

Getting some Ayo vs THT vibes; BU wants both, but very unlikely. At least not Simeon vs Irving; shouldn't effect future recruiting in-state.

AJ Dybantsa is very interested in coming to visit. I actually think we have a fighter's chance there

Donā€™t know the relative values of each player but having DGL, Fears, Moretti, and Butler would seem to cover the PG position. Obviously two PGā€™ are not too many but having that many smaller guards playing together would present some defensive problems. (Butler is larger but still undersized for this year). Like the size this year!
