I don’t think Dain is leaving
“only”Really feel BU only has to fill the big 3 of Hawkins, TSJ and Domask. I think there are guys already on the team that can replace QG and Harmon‘s minutes. Big shoes to fill but BU has proven he can do it.
I hope Amani can stay healthy.Regarding Dain, he just wasn’t a good fit for the way we played most of the year but that doesn’t mean he won’t be next year. We’ve basically run brand new offenses each of the last 3 years that cater to the strength of our personnel. Quincy and Coleman have complemented each other beautifully as switchable bigs who can also stretch the floor. And I am sure we will look for stretch bigs in the portal but unlikely we will find someone with Coleman’s skill set.
Hopefully Amani and Dain both stay. With those 2, Morez and Ty I don’t think the other team would hardly get a rebound.
Maybe it’s because I really love the Illini but if I’m in Dain’s shoes it would be much more of an accomplishment for me to earn solid minutes on one of the best teams in the country rather than go to a mid major and stuff the stats.I don’t think Dain is leaving
Nothing is a guarantee, but I think it's starting to go this way as wellI don’t think Dain is leaving
The door is open. As of now, I would be surprised if he comes back. Don't think it's a 0% chance thoughI’ve heard rumblings on a Coleman return
His impact down the stretch has really changed the trajectory of this teamI don’t think Dain is leaving

Well. If only Amani and Johnson are competing with him for minutes, he might like his chances. If he defends like he did in the OSU BTT game, I like his chances, too.Maybe it’s because I really love the Illini but if I’m in Dain’s shoes it would be much more of an accomplishment for me to earn solid minutes on one of the best teams in the country rather than go to a mid major and stuff the stats.
Did you see “Big Shoes to Fill” ?“only”
You think we're willing to sacrifice ability to help us immediately for more years of eligibility?Kaleb Glenn, La Lumiere School , Small Forward

Not super impressive season averages, but 15 points and 13 rebounds in a rare Louisville win against GT.Kaleb Glenn, La Lumiere School , Small Forward

Tough to imagine Morez Johnson playing as little as Hansberry has this year though. And Sincere won't be redshirting again.Brad runs an 8 man rotation ... Minutes are up for grabs ...
If you are not in the rotation ... Best utilize the best facility and strength coaches in the country to get better and contribute next year ...
And yet this is my expectation, just because that's what we've done the past two years.I think we get 3-4 transfers who will play significant minutes right away and maybe one guy who is more of a long term development piece
Morez will be starting Day 1. You can take that to the bankTough to imagine Morez Johnson playing as little as Hansberry has this year though. And Sincere won't be redshirting again.
It's a good line of coachspeak, but keeping 13 scholarship players happy and engaged is more difficult than its ever been.
Anyway, I would like us to look more developmental in the portal, and trust guys like Hansberry and Dainja and Rodgers to develop and shoulder more of the load.
We're in the market for one big scorer for sure, but maybe not so much the Harmon and Guerrier types.
I hope Amani can improve his jump shot. It has not been pretty or effective yet. To be what we need him to be he has to be a reasonable threat from the arc.Regarding Dain, he just wasn’t a good fit for the way we played most of the year but that doesn’t mean he won’t be next year. Peja's kid from Stanford is in the portal. Not trying to connect him to us, but he's one of the bigger names out there so far for whoever does go after him.
Idk if starting is 100% certain, but he will play 20 minutes a game at least next year. One of our best hs recruits in a long time. Jase will be a factor as wellMorez will be starting Day 1. You can take that to the bank
