As more names have gotten posted here I thought to myself "wouldn't it be nice if we consolidated the 'Insider Vetted' list of portal targets to a single location for reference?" And then I said to myself on a slow day at the office:
So introducing the Unofficial IllinoisLoyalty List of Illinois Basketball Potential Portal Targets. I will look to keep this updated during Portal Season with names that get dropped by our esteemed circle of insiders to the thread and names that get confirmed via recruiting reporters that we have contacted.
Notes: I plan to keep it to players that are officially in the portal, so some names that have been rumored on here for a while may not appear yet, such as a certain in-conference guard. Eligibility remaining is based on solely my best estimate based on a mildly educated browse of their profile. The "Ref Post" column will be where I saw the name mentioned, and the Profile will always link to the player's ESPN Stats page. If someone has information to correct anything, I'm appreciative of the corrections. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to DM or reply.
Will re-post the link with occasional updates as I go, but I'll keep a link to the file in my signature as well. ILL

I really like Pikiel. He's elevated Rutgers, big time. That said, Cliff bolting doesn't bother me.
Question for our insiders: is there anyone (already in the portal or not) that the staff thinks is a (near)lock to join Illinois next season? Not asking for names at all. Just curious if the Illini staff already has a "silent verbal" from any transfer.

Heck, we might be recruiting a couple guys who are already on the team before it's all said and done. We could rebrand it the talent retention and acquisition thread but simply sticking to recruiting works for brevity.Should their be a dedicated Portal Thread??? Isn't the staff allowed to pull Scholarships once they enter the Portal??? I'd think there may be an occasional player they'd actually like to have back, but for the most part I'd expect once you enter the portal, you stay in the portal.

I think we learned this year that character matters in the portal. We signed older guys with 4 years experience who fit in very well, never complained and were not flakes.
