Keyshawn Hill and Amos are two guy not being talked about that I would be interested in. CJ Jones from uic would be another

I am confident no matter what they do, they will make an offense work. Pretty remarkable that without a traditional point guard they put together an offense as good as the one Deron Williams ran with two other all americans on the team.
It’s funny how things work out. After the off-season leading up to last year, expectations couldn’t have been much higher. With selfish players added to the mix, the team struggled. This year, without a true point guard, some questioned the upside. Here we are still playing the last weekend of March.

Ty, Amani, Dain and Luke will serve as the core returning with DGL and Buck in the mix as well. Add in some like minded scorers that defend and this group could make a repeat run!!
Those guys aren’t going anywhere without 3-4 studs added to the group. Ty plays hard, with a complete offensive game, he has all-American potential, without it we should be looking to recruit over him. He controls his destiny.

The offense worked this year because of two experienced players, Shannon and Domask. I don’t think anyone saw “booty ball” coming.

It's good to see someone stick up for Mayer. I don't think he was ever "the problem." He was eccentric, yes, but at the center of the issues, no, in my opinion.
Mayer was a streaky shooter that had to improvise to find his rhythm. Unfortunately, that often came at the expense of the team dynamics and chemistry.

He was great for Baylor as a disruptor off the bench. Helping off his man to get blocks, steals. He is the reason Baylor turned that game around on us several years ago.

He just didn’t fit the role we brought him here for.

Don't forget to also add that Brad, Tyler or whomever figured out how to utilize Dain in the booty ball backdown to add another option to this. Think who ever came up with this has a good offensive mind and will create new plays with the new roster.

I like how people here !!!! on Boswell as a bust when he is a 18 year old soph that started on a sweet 16 team and shot like 37% from 3 for the year. But then are wanting to believe a 21 year old soph can improve his game dramatically.

Until recently I hadn’t heard that “booty ball” happened at Jay Wright‘s suggestion. Perhaps insiders can verify.

Not sure I want to compare Buck with ayo and Colby white. Also Ayo shot 39% from 3 as a junior. He also shot 37.6% from 3 as a rookie

Hawkins shot 28% last year, so maybe Buck has a chance as he shot 32%.

The Athletic article says that Brad and Tyler had already been experimenting with Domask backing down his man, but Wright suggested he lean into it even more and commit to it.

Wright posted up his guards all the time so Tyler started studying Wright's Villanova teams.

I'm not sure why you need insiders to verify when the article has direct quotes from Tyler.

DGL is going to be a starter next year and one of our best scorers
I love that people are very high on DGL, but I just don’t see it for next year. Seems more like some people wanting to “reward” a current player/recruit rather than being based on what I’ve seen on the court. Much like this past off season when people had DGL starting by mid season and other holdovers/HS recruits being bigger part of rotation than the 3 transfers. Hope I’m wrong as I like the way he seems to have bought in.

We absolutely need an alpha scorer, more dribbling and shooting. We are solid at bigs with Dain, Hansbury,Rez..

Storr would be the alpha scorer. Maddox and Sincere Parker can give you the dribbling and shooting.

If we get another big, Garrison at OKst might be an option with addition of his former coach. Now we are looking like a tradional MSU team with 4 solid tough big men.

Other options at guard/wing are Hill and Amos. Think ultimately all transfers are former instate players.

Ty and Buck are EDGs with high skills on one end and deep gaps on offense and shooting. Comments about Buck in practice lead me to think the staff has a role for him.
