In an earlier post, I said that I had reservations about Storr. I also conceded that if BU was SURE Storr would buy in, it could work. The latest rumor that Storr is demanding 1M/yr and passed on 750k/yr from KS has me even more concerned.
The demand says to me that there is a massive ego that is disconnected from reality. That, coupled with the rumors that his mom is batsh*t crazy, and likely stoking his ego, have me leaning toward a strong pass. His numbers don't justify anywhere near that number IMO. People could say WI was a bad fit. Okay. I watched ~6 WI games this year. WI wins games by playing team ball. Everyone follows the (boring) system. Its repetitive. It works. Storr did not play team ball. When the ball got to him, it stuck. Opponents knew this. The WI offense died. People say he was selfish because WI had no offense. I think a fair chunk of that worked in reverse. We know from past experience that when people know the ball is going to stick, they stop moving. "No point."
If we do pay the silly amount, can/will BU really bench him hard when he doesn't follow instructions or practice hard or defend hard? Will the major NIL contributors tear BU a new one if he does bench him? Will Storr change when benched, or will he listen to his mom, get pissy, take the money, and move on next year? I really wish there was a way to write NIL contracts to be based on things like players actually playing. Then, players would have to decide between their ego and the money.
