I could be wrong but I though you can only declare for the draft and Maintain your college Eligibility once. then if you declared again you forwent your remaining years

I have some skepticism about his high-major translatability. More smooth than explosive. Not a strong outside shooter.
But he led the nation in scoring in Juco last year and then was 14th in D1 in scoring this year. So there's an ability level there no question.

He’s a strong ball handling guard who can score. Averaged 20.5 ppg/5 rebounds. What’s not to like? Sounds like we could’ve used him Saturday.

Although I think Illinois has and is going to end up benefitting as much as or more than anyone in the portal era, I don't really care for it much myself.

About time for the travelin man Adam Miller to declare....he's been at ASU too long... Toss in Skyy and you get the "just passin thru" approach.
Storr, Hill, Davis and athletic big or just a very big-big? Maddox does look smooth and more true PG than others mentioned.
It used to be professional athletes stayed with teams forever in the 70s and 80s. With the advent of free agency, this went away forever. Now college is just picking up with their own free agency. Team loyalty is dead. Get ready for brand new faces every year...just like the pros...
It's not a bad thing.. we got nil for this and how much money the team has controls everything. I look for new blue bloods based on how rich the team is a d I look for super teams in the future like in the nba.
Tried making a dream roster... But their are too many ? Marks. My thoughts.... Maddox is probably my favorite portal guy so far (besides Storr), Morez will probably play similar minutes to what Hansberry did this year, I would probably want CH back only if we can find a 7 footer with a halfway decent jump shot...but then that means Maddox, Storr, ?, CH, Vlad/Raynaud can Ty play the 3 and find a 15 foot jumper? If we get Hill does Dra-Gibs not play? If CH doesn't come back... Maddox, ?, Storr, Hansberry, Vlad/Raynaud... Does Hill play the 2, does Gibbs, will Jace be better and more ready than we expect? My brain hurts

Or Miller Kopp ex NU and Indiana player somewhat easy to defend by making Miller move with the ball from the corner before he jacked a 3.
Regarding Melendez ... he was inconsistant.
But do true Illini bball fans miss Curbello, Clark, Epps, Melendez, even Polwolski... ??? They had thier year moved on and were replaced by better more connected players.
