One thing I didn't realize is how few games some programs played that year. Makes sense I guess, the major conferences had big financial incentives to try to have a season for TV, lower down that's less true, and they probably had less resources to prevent Covid outbreaks to boot.

Domask played more games than the entire seasons for Maine, Howard, or Chicago State. Tons of teams played less than 20 in the bottom half of D1. The Ivy League didn't play at all.

The numbers don't seem to support this statement. They played only 26 games and 2 of those were the conference tournament. I have a hard time believing that a MV school in 2020 had only 26 games on their regular season schedule, 29 would be more believable.
See above. And feel free to see for yourself

Nonconference seasons were truncated that year. No fans, remember. We only played 26 regular season games, with one more (UT-Martin) canceled due to Covid.

Another factor: How long it takes the judge to issue a summary judgement may factor into other portal decisions…
Literally forever. However I imagine you could get this framed as a TRO / preliminary injunction situation where the harm he stands to suffer is his spot on the roster being given to someone else.

I'm 99% sure an offer was made last summer. It is also my understanding he would've taken it, if told about it.

No idea how this plays out and don’t even have an opinion on the situation. Fact is, however, that JeffJ is correct. Jeff never one to publish speculation and as we all know, his ties run deep. FWIW, my gf is one of the 3 clerks for the lawyers handling the the initial case intake. So to that end, JeffJ is correct.
ehhhh.....

Well whether he tries to sue is a different question than whether the NCAA gives him the waiver in the first instance.

The NCAA has been clear enough in its view on this. The legal system who knows.

I mean honestly, what do you want me to say?

The stuff in that JeffJ tweet is factually inaccurate. Maybe I should just keep the color commentary from there to myself.
Sorry you're taking it on the shins. Everything we've been told (at this point) suggests that he isn't coming back, and thst the staff is operating under that same assumption.

If there's some legal Hail Mary that works in our favor and allows him another year...well, I'll be elated!

Nah at the very least you inspire debate, and even if I disagree with you on something your points are still well argued and thought out usually. Idk about your love of Epps!

If I am not mistaken the covid year was for 19/20 season. Marcus played that whole season as a freshman. He only played 10 games his sophomore year which wasn't the covid season.
