Yeah, there were some highlights of Garrison shooting some midrange jumpers, but he took zero 3s, I think, so yeah he's not really a shooter. But it also looks like Corhen was maybe told not to shoot 3s this year, either. He shot a few, not very well, as a freshman, but only took 2 and missed them both as a sophomore. And if you're willing to go a bit smaller in Corhen, then I start to think, well should we just try for Carey Booth, then? He's listed at 6'10' too but looks skinnier, but he shoots a fair number of 3s, although he only made 30% as a freshman. (although wasn't that similar to Coleman too?)Yeah..but having a 5 that is actually a shooter is fairly rare...especially if we want a guy bigger than Coleman.
Cam Corhen seems like a nice fit though, right? I thought I read he was a shooter, and I vaguely remembering recruiting him...think he was a late-bloomer in high school and committed somewhat later, but we lost out?
Insiders...Is Corhen a good option or an option at all for us??
Is there a scenario where Ty comes off the bench in order to facilitate playing a true 5 if you don't get a shooter like Raynaud at the 5?
edit: hadn't seen PasadenaIllini's post about Ty potentially not starting next year, nor the stuff about Garrison maybe being significantly shorter than listed. That might change things - if he has a body similar to Morez or Amani, then I'd probably rather just stick with those 2.
