I think that was the point of the post. When he committed, he was closer to 200, but now that he is top 100, he is wanting to make some demands.
And as another poster pointed out, when he committed, he was a lower ranked recruit who committed to a top tier program with all kinds of dudes on the roster. Now we are linked to all kinds of other dudes, and he is higher ranked, and people are seeing how this whole portal and NIL and unlimited transfer thing is working out, and he is questioning if that is the right way for him, and I personally don't blame him.

I think he’d fit the offense pretty well. He’s much more of a mobile, rim-running center than a slower, post-up depending guy like a Kofi or Dain-style big.

Does the staff have a potential starting 5 they are pitching to donors for them all to pitch in? Or is it a player by player request? For example, if Brad tells everyone Storr is the guy, they will find the money for him & then wait for the next one to pony them all in? Or does most of it stem in, “if we can get ____ & ____ comes back we want ___, so we need $ total.” Last year it felt like Brad really went all in on RayJ & when he whiffed a lot of donors and Josh were pissed. Is there hesitancy in following through with money requests this year due to how last transfer szn went? ….

I've read we are looking for a 5 man. I'm not on top of the rest of the basketball scene, but once Edey and Clingan are gone after tonight, are there any other big men like them that will cook us if we dont have someone to match up? I've heard all the Purdoo fans say they have another 7 footer behind Edey, but wondering if CBB is following the NBA more now?
Sorry if I missed something, but what is all this talk of OA coming back? Inget Cal is gone from Kentucky, but who would then be out on the current Illinois staff? Would love to get OA back in the fold, just trying to figure out how it all works. Again, apologies if this was explained in another thread previously.

I would have liked to see Dain motivated like he was toward the end. He obviously knew he was most likely not coming back and would need a new home. That’s what doesn’t sit well with me. There’s a reason he wasn’t playing more and it had to do with him….not BU as a lot of people have complained about! Effort is an expectation and yes he helped get us further this year but where was that all along. Had he been working like that he would have played more. We all knew he was capable. It’s up to him…..somewhere else now.

Unfortunately, he's on record saying Champaign is too cold for him.
The trouble is the lack of skilled, athletic bigs the NBA prefers that can be found in college. I think Edey, Clingan, Garza, Kofi, etc. types will have an opportunity to excel in college in a way they just won't at the next level because that is what college teams have more access to.
I mean he wants to play right away and I get that. But he wanted to be guaranteed a role next year and we just can’t do that with who we’re going to bring in. Work hard and show your stuff and beat some people out and you’ll get tick and a role but obviously he didn’t want to do that
