How much will Storr desire from the Illini?

We may not, but per several of the guys "in the know", the staff feels pretty good about our chances to land all 4 (Boswell, Maddox, Storr, and Booth). From what I can see, that would be a hell of a haul. Yes, it may lead to some attrition. Elite level teams don't guarantee playing time. The best guys earn their PT by being the best option at there respective positions.
Our current roster has players who are rotational/platoon players (at this point of their careers) IMO maybe 1 current roster player (and incoming freshman) starts and at best 2 play significant (>20) minutes.

Every once in a while a team does it. I think Arkansas' National Title team in the 90s also did it. But it's pretty unusual. Most coaches prefer a tighter rotation, especially late in the season.
Feel like Florida State has done it at times under Leonard Hamilton. Seemed like some of their teams had an unlimited amount of guys between 6'6-6'8.

Nobody really plays that 40 minutes of hell style anymore but if you're going to press that much then you need to be deep because can't count on much more than 20 minutes from most guys.

Ty, Luke, Amani and DGL were all highly rated coming out of HS.
Amani was higher rated than Booth. Amani played less because Illini were way better than ND. He should not be scared of competing with same class Booth for playing time.
Boswell was higher rated than DGL and has 1 years starter experience. However we have 2 guard slots open.
Luke really only played a lot last season. He lost most of his sophomore year to injury. I think he improved a lot this year and will take another step forward as a senior.
Ty has to learn a medium range jumper or 3 point set shot to stay on the floor against bigs. If he does this he can get starter minutes based on his defense, passing, ball handling and rebounding.
High school rankings don't mean anything after they have started playing and it's not an exact science anyways. Much like baseball prospect rankings

Big talent difference between #1 guy and #50. #50 and #100 could be very similarly talented.

I did some more research on Anthony Higgs and I found a website that has what happened to him and where he is now and in my earlier post I should have said the player to Trent's right was Anthony Higgs and not the player to Trent's left:

Anthony Higgs

The only other early departure from last year’s team other than Samba Kane, Anthony Higgs will play this coming season at Chipola College — a junior college in Marianna, Fla. Higgs missed the entire 2018-19 season at Illinois with a lingering foot injury amidst other medical concerns.

I seem to remember jokes being made about Anthony Higgs getting overweight as a result of his foot injury and those jokes were based on the physics particle called the Higgs boson, which is supposed to give mass to all matter in the universe.

This 2019 link to the local News-Gazette newspaper website tells what happened to other Illini basketball players as well.

I always liked Samba Kane. I wonder what a couple of years with Fletch would have done for him.

Pope going to Kentucky has to help us with Storr I’d think. Can’t imagine they’re a legit option anymore

Give me Coleman Jones at the 5 and let Morez and Amani fill out the rest of the front court. We don't absolutely need Booth, we do NEED a Natural 5 man.. also seems like Coleman Jones would be able to stretch defenses more considering his 40+ percent 3 point shot compared to booths 30%

Just able to catch up on Loyalty after a busy day. Things are getting a little chippy on the site. 😂 Irregardless, with that being said…carry on.
You have offended my family and we must fight to the death in the Pizza Hut parking lot.

Go illini

I stand by my prediction. Contrary to our well respected insiders here. Aj Storr to Illinois is unlikely 🔮
I agree with the above.
1. Currently, from all samples we have seen, he is not a cultural fit for a winning TEAM. Fans will pay to see him play, but will he make his teammates better, play all out on both ends, and stick around to earn his million in year two if he does those things?
2. He has not exhibited an all around game worthy of a million dollars. He cannot come close to matching TSJr.'s production in any area of efficiency...yet.

When have you ever seen a 20 yo kid ask for a million dollars to play for you and then produce and earn his money?

Would not want to put my eggs/dollars in the basket that depends on Storr to play at that level. But I am not saying he can't get there, but will he work hard enough to get there like Terrance did? I sure would not let a 20 year old kid who has never played at that level hold up my bank. But I live in Missouri now....so you gotta show me! Bottom line is that I would tell AJ that you will earn $X in NIL this year, and if you show me what I want to see and welcome being coached to play the game we need you to play, you will earn $Y next year. Take it or leave it.

But then I think from what I have read that conversation may be a rules violation by telling him he will earn anything at all. BU can't get involved in those guarantees. So, in fact, does anyone here know for certain what kind of conversations can take place?

For sure, we can promise him a nice looking uniform, street gear, great shoes, good food, a nice room, and a great education. And don't forget state of the art whirlpools. Oh, and talented teammates that will work their tails of every day and play hard every possession with a B1G and NCAA title in their sights.

Man do I hate this pay for play crap. Does anyone think Calipari would not pay Edey or Clingan 3+ million to be a Hog next year? Would an NCAA cap of 1/4 million max. make him vomit? Could that be done? I could go on with these questions forever...but I think we all understand what a cesspool this is becoming.
