Man, Morez is going to be a boatload at 6'9" 235. He is going to be a beast. I like the idea of interchangeably giving him the 4-5 role. He will get bigger quick working with fletch. I think he will be able to man up to guys that are 6'10-11 or so and 250lbs. The thing about him is he is quick and athletic on top of that.

Storr or no Storr ..I'll cope. He's obviously super talented, highly sought after, and will immediately make our team better. But, purely from a fan perspective - I find it much mure enjoyable to cheer on someone who isn't JUST here for money and plans to stick around for multiple years.

FWIW, 247 crystal ball has Illinois at 100% for Storr and Boswell. From 3 hrs. ago. I'm sure hoping that's right.
I wonder if both players are getting at or over a mil? I would assume that there will be other bidders for their services before long. Arkansas comes to mind.

That's how I've felt from the start. Yes it's good to maximize earnings, but I'm concerned about the attitude of players who take it past a certain point and how well they'll be able to fit into a team.

Totally agree. Just thought I'd add that this reasoning is why I've really warmed up on the Tre White signing over the past few days after being initially lukewarm about it. I can't imagine there are that many guys in the portal that have the same combination of:

1) good size, athleticism, positional flexibility, and ability to be at least a decent scorer
2) starter experience at the power-5 level for 2 years, including experience in the tourney as a freshman
3) willing to accept what I imagine to be modest NIL and the real possibility (if we happen get all of our targets, which I'm sure he's aware of) of being a bench rotation guy instead of a starter in order to get out of a bad situation/program.
4) NBA upside on the high end if it turns out he can put it all together??
edit: 5) forgot to mention he also has 2 years of eligibility left, which might be nice

Really just seems like a lot of upside for what I imagine the price was. Might even improve our negotiating position with Storr, and as Gritty said, would allow us to simply target the best available player if we don't land Storr (although I also agree that landing Maddox, and maybe Boswell, REALLY frees us up in this regard).
I think White is a baller. Just needs to play defense. We'll see.

If we now have six "experts" casting votes for each, then I'd start to feel comfortable.

I'm being super optimistic and viewing his impact as a Trayce Jackson-Davis who can shoot.

A long drive for family and friends to drive to watch him play. Hopefully some common sense prevails.
But if it’s dollars and cents over common sense, think Arkansas will come in with a stupid number. Question will we match, or convince him that Arkansas might not make good on it.

Cal has to make a splash here, do they go top 5 portal target or 5 star one and done?

Does UK get motivated to overpay to prove they’re still the place to be or does Pope look to overhaul the culture first and trust the faithful will support him?

Coaches aren’t the only ones in line to get raises from the carousel cycle.

Myles had Hodgkins disease. Great story on his recovery.
