Popeye Doyle must have intercepted the illegal NIL shipment from Marseille

The reason Coach Dale didn’t talk much about his time before arriving in Hickory.

I really hope we do get Storr. I think it’ll be a huge miss if we don’t. He’s likely to be much better next year than he was at Wisconsin if he stays on the same development curve.

If we get Boswell

+ 3 portal players Davis - Soph, White- JR, Boswell - JR
+ 2 HS players - Morez, Jaks
- 1 portal Dain
- 4 graduating Coleman, Quincy, Marcus, TSJ
* 6 Hopefully retaining Luke, Ty, DGL, Amani, Nico, Sencire
Right now we are at 45% new players. I think adding 1 more portal maybe all we should do to preserve team chemistry

in 2022-3
+ 4 HS = Jadyn, Sencire, Skyy, Ty
+ 3 portal - TSJ, Mayer, Dain (-he was already on campus)
- Retained - Luke, Coleman, RJ, Brandon,
60% new players. Chemistry was bad due to Skyy, Mayer and Jaydn?

Believe he has a string of visits with Louisville then us then Xavier. Believe Trilly Donovan has implied Xavier is in a good spot although our insiders have expressed some level of confidence for Illinois

I've said watch out for Sean all along ... Sean is ELITE when he gets kids on campus ... Maddox is his #1 target ...

He has more to sell to Maddox than we do ... And the NIL is going to be about the same at Xavier vs Illinois ...

Problem is that these schools telling him they can get him to a million aren't giving it up front ...

So how much is he really going to get ...

There was player last year promised 600k and he got 125k up front and 125k the rest of the season ...
What I've always heard is that Illinois has been transparent and truthful and what-you-see-is-what-you-get about NIL from Day 1, which was EXTREMELY smart.

A reputation worth its weight in gold, genuinely.

I think we need to stop dissing the defense of these transfers and transfer targets. Before you pass judgment on a player, you need to have watched him play many games, and while doing so have focused on him at the defensive end. I might be mistaken, but I doubt if there's a poster on this board who has met such a criteria.

100% ... You talk to any of our players ... We give them a range of what they could make ... We tell them what's guaranteed ... VERY transparent ...

Shoot - we paid Skyy Clark even after he left ... I don't even think I personally would have done that ...

But just goes to show what kind of people you are dealing with here at Illinois vs somewhere else ... Where you might get paid or you might not ...

That much? Wow.
Apparently if you want the best players you're going to have to pony up. That's today's college basketball. We didn't make the rules but we need to be towards the top of the NIL curve to get the top transfers and recruits.
