Well I hope we can find a big man since Amani is leaving otherwise bigs are gonna eat against us again, yet worse.

I was never really that impressed watching Kylan
Boswell this year, however, I think Fred VanVleet
is a good comparable. I watched Fred in high school and followed his career at Wichita State. He never impressed me that much either. Fred makes a lot of winning plays and rarely ever turns the ball over. The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and Fred has won at every level. I think Kylan could follow a similar path and he's bigger.
If he is Fred Van Vliet we’re in great shape. I question you watched him in high school at Auburn cause he was special. And obviously Wichita state he was great SMH!

Travis Branham with the crystal ball for Oumar Ballo to Indiana…

Man, if the crystal balls all come true they’re probably looking at a starting 5 of Kanaan Carlyle-Myles Rice-Mgbako-Reneau-Ballo, with Galloway off the bench.

so what ??.............still got Woodson as their coach ................they really really do.................

I've been enjoying the Masters today , with the wind kicking up big time.......One of the announcers said they had sand in their teeth from the wind and the bunker sand.......wow......

Love enjoying the beautiful landscaping at the Masters......signals spring is at hand for me...........

Learned today that the 13th tee box used to be a nursery before Bobby Jones bought it in the early 1930's and incorporated it into this magnificent golf course.......

So I agree playing 5-out is the way. It's modern ball and a huge reason why we were so succesful on offense this year. But to be fair we got punked by a lot of bigs aside from Edey & Clingan... Julian Reece, Oso Ighodaro, Vlad Goldin, Tarris Reed, Malik Reneau, Qudus Wahab, Pharrel Payne, Tyler Wahl all won in the paint against us. I get those guys are good, but it became crystal clear we struggled against pretty much any big who had an offensive game. I really think the staff believed Coleman could hold his own against those guys but oh well. Having a true big who can defend the interior is valuable
Those guys may have won in the paint, but which team won most of those games?

I would not say that we are out on Maddox ... The race is just much closer than it was even a couple days ago ... Sean is feeling confident ... But we're going to get a chance to lock it down before he does ... I do think that Maddox wants to be here but is the role going to be better here than what he is going to get at Xavier ? Because he'll start there and easily get 30+ minutes a game ... NIL is essentially the same ... So I think it really is going to be a tough decision for the young man ...

If we do lose out on Maddox ... Couple names to watch: Ryan Conwell, Jordan Pope, Duke Miles and Selton Miguel ...
Great info. Appreciative. I almost would rather have Conwell. Is that crazy talk?

Was DD so terrible at the 5 that, given how often we got punked and how vulnerable CoHawk was at the 5, DD warmed the bench so much this year?

I'm not really asking for post scoring to clog up the lane. I'm just looking for a defensive big that can play a reserve role and match up with opposing bigs. We didn't just struggle against Edey we struggled against almost every decent big such as:
I think we might be surprised what Amani can do against big 5's after 6 more months with Fletch. He looked very strong in the games he played in.

Another thing to consider about constantly pushing the envelope on how much you give one player in NIL, how does that make the rest of the guys feel? These are kids that have likely never seen anywhere close to this much money before. It’s only natural to compare yourself to that guy next to you. Not a great way to start a locker room if you get bullied into overpaying one guy and not others. Not saying that is happening, just that there can be more consequences than a poor investment.

As a Georgian, the wind is less enjoyable up close. Branches flying all over around my place and a neighbors windshield took a beating.

Didn’t Booth publicly say the main reason he’s leaving Notre Dame was he sees himself as a stretch 4 and doesn’t like playing the 5?
WE play a 5-out. Hawkins was our 5 this year and he shot from the outside quite a bit. With a 5-out, you ideally want all five guys on the floor to be a threat from 3-point range.

Yeah… Notre Dame plays 5 out too. And Booth publicly said he didn’t like playing the 5

True, but I have heard a few times that Coleman would have much preferred to play a 4, and I wonder if Booth is saying something similar. I think if you're going to have a "stretch 4" serve as your big and have him defend 5s, it really helps to have someone that really embraces that challenge of defending larger 5s as a part of that role.

Along these lines, I wonder how Booth (and Amos, for that matter) could serve as a large 3, potentially. Ever since we switched Coleman on to Storr in the second half of the B1G tourney title game and it was VERY effective, I've wondered what a lineup with Coleman at the 3 for some serious size would have looked like.

Somthing like:
Domask PG
TSJ
Coleman
Quincy
Dain as your starting 5

And I wonder if you have another shot at doing something similar once Amani and Rez develop a bit with Booth or Amos as your 3, Amani as the 4, and Morez the 5.

I like Maddox as a dog, but honestly prefer Conwell anyway. If legit, would love that to go with Boswell

Looks like Amani is out the door and staff is taking a step back on Storr. Man this hurts.

Nah ... Going to go through the draft process and come back ...

Potential portal kid ... But Ben thinks he's coming back ... 🤷‍♂️
He does have the ceiling to get drafted in this weak draft albeit not a first rounder.
