Well, to be fair, he was a 5 star player out of high school, but I'm seeing him as a 4 star transfer nowWhen did a 5 star player become decent ??
We're acting like Brad is bringing in Tejon Lucas or something ... Come on guys ...

I totally agree with a 5 star being above decent but as far he hasn't played anywhere near what most expect from a 5 star.if I believe correctly his pog is 9.6 a game which I truly believe he will raise it with a illini my point that isn't going to lift us to elite 8 level without serious help.no disrespect he is just going to need some serious help it's not like he was playing with some bums with ZonaWhen did a 5 star player become decent ??

I don't think Shannon met the requirements for his jersey to be raised to the raftersBoswell is gonna be special here.. Arizona was his fun college experience, Illinois is all business. Might look up in 3 years and see his Jersey next to Shannon’s in the rafters, he’s got that capability..
I do but also realize he had major limitations along with limited playing time he also averaged 9.6 or there about I'm not trying to be that guy to call someone out I'm truly do believe he will be successful all I'm trying to say he will need some help as does anybody.i love ty but as of right now are starting line up as is doesn't make me belive he can take a major jump.not to say you bring in the right help it can't change things but as of now I don't believe either of the last 2 transfers we've got help move the needle in big ten champs.just my 2 centsYou realize Boswell was the starting PG on a top 10 team all season right (as an 18 year old)......?
Doesn’t a 2nd team AA honor qualify you?I don't think Shannon met the requirements for his jersey to be raised to the rafters
the rules say consensus 2nd team AA, wasn't he third team most places?Doesn’t a 2nd team AA honor qualify you?
You realize how young he is. Shouldn't even been in college when he was. Body wasn't mature he wasn't mature for the situation. He found out the hard way. Don't see last 2 years being who he going to be. Reality check going to be a good thing for himI totally agree with a 5 star being above decent but as far he hasn't played anywhere near what most expect from a 5 star.if I believe correctly his pog is 9.6 a game which I truly believe he will raise it with a illini my point that isn't going to lift us to elite 8 level without serious help.no disrespect he is just going to need some serious help it's not like he was playing with some bums with Zona
Shannon definitely deserves his numbers in the rafters he was a beast let alone he missed 6 games and still broke our scoring record for a season show that man the love he deservesI don't think Shannon met the requirements for his jersey to be raised to the rafters
He broke the Illinois single season scoring record, plus he was an AA. He'll be up there.I don't think Shannon met the requirements for his jersey to be raised to the rafters
Shamefully they made him a 3rd team but I dare someone to say 5 better players especially during the tournamentDoesn’t a 2nd team AA honor qualify you?
That's just not how it works, Trent deserved to be up there too but didn't due to the rules. Shannon unfortunately doesn't meet the rules either:He broke the Illinois single season scoring record, plus he was an AA. He'll be up there.
They can change the rules. Pretty confident Shannon’s jersey will be up there eventually provided he gets the criminal charges dismissed. That's just not how it works, Trent deserved to be up there too but didn't due to the rules. Shannon unfortunately doesn't meet the rules either:
Players selected to have their jerseys hung must have achieved any of the following criteria:
1) National Player of the Year
2) Enshrined in the National Basketball Hall of Fame
3) Big Ten Player of the Year
4) Consensus First- or Second-Team All-American
5) Illinois All-Century Team Member
6) Individual whose pioneering efforts made a significant impact on Illinois and international basketball
As far as I can tell, there is no consensus third team.the rules say consensus 2nd team AA, wasn't he third team most places?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I want to be wrong here.
Punctuation is your friend, friend.I do but also realize he had major limitations along with limited playing time he also averaged 9.6 or there about I'm not trying to be that guy to call someone out I'm truly do believe he will be successful all I'm trying to say he will need some help as does anybody.i love ty but as of right now are starting line up as is doesn't make me belive he can take a major jump.not to say you bring in the right help it can't change things but as of now I don't believe either of the last 2 transfers we've got help move the needle in big ten champs.just my 2 cents
You have to realize that in the vast prairie wilderness of Illinois, where the chief no longer reigns over our peach basket rituals, savages still persist…Punctuation is your friend, friend.
wait until Booth goes somewhere else and we've tarnished are relationship with Amani and he leaves anyways... then we are left with our pants hanging around our ankles.
Cool, but that doesn't make him a consensus 2nd team all-american. It doesn't mean that he has to make one 2nd team all-american team.
Maybe 6 is the Tal Brody clause?Cool, but that doesn't make him a consensus 2nd team all-american. It doesn't mean that he has to make one 2nd team all-american team.
Also, for those in the know, and does the number 6 on the list of things that qualify you for get your jersey hung mean anything specifically? I figured that was there to give you some leeway for guys like Trent (maybe?) or for TSJ (assuming he is cleared).
For his sake, I just want to see him located where he can succeed and get lots of PT.I love Sencire's grit and effort, but I almost wish he does. I'd like him to sign with a mid-major where he'd get more PT. Moretti, DGL, Boswell can all shoot.
