Not an insider but I would guess length and athleticism.

Don't want to take anything away from Amani because I think he can be good but he is probably 6'7 and didn't appear to be able to attack off the bounce and isnt vertically explosive. He would probably struggle to provide much rim protection.

Booth is taller and a lot longer plus he can jump. I'd argue just a lot higher ceiling on booth.

Cognitive Dissonance... that a person can hold two contradictory ideas at the same time... is both possible and desirable. And very much so in this case with our Beloved.

Illini Nation is justifiably hungry for that Biggest Trophy. And this is a necessary and reachable goal now that the excellence of the program has been fully restored. And coach, player, and fan should fully embrace that goal every season. Anything less sells everyone short.

But also... not winning that nice shiny thing in a given year does not mean your season was a failure or even disappointing. We all just had a blast for many months... and a nice glide along Dance floor to get within tasting distance of that shiny thing. Shannon gave us some jaw-dropping memories. Goode and Hawkins drained Threes like a wash basin that quickly emptied like it had been freshly Draino-ized. Domask drove his floor defenders crazy (even as they knew what he was gonna do) while also mesmerizing us with his smoothly robotic free throw technique. Everyone contributed something good. All that doesn’t go away just because an Eastern powerhouse stuffed with extreme skill happened to obliterate everything and everyone that stood in its way this time around.

For the Illini... It was a successful season in most every measure. And the envy of all programs except for just a handful.

So, the Cognitive Dissonance part? Wanting the Big Trophy with a passion but at the same time feeling like the same kind of Big Winner and never a loser when you know you’ve played your best (regardless of the final outcome) and accomplished something great and memorable on the court and in your life as a player and in the lives of all your fans.

There are many victories to be found in Sports and in Life when we ‘Lose’... something. These victories are there to be discovered and embraced. And too often we ignore them in our immediate hurt and disappointment. That is a mistake.

The soul of a Winner is forged by the full embrace of a great goal and challenge and then along your Hero’s Journey toward making that goal reality. And if you should fall short... in many ways, you do achieve victory in that courageous Journey and not in any Destination.

Maybe someone could write a hype chant that isn't racist? Why does this never occur to the members of snowflake battalion...can't they learn to write music or chant? Or commission someone who can?

In the meantime, there is lots of great music to get pumped up by.

It's just kind of a joke the level of which some here use vague language and everyone annoits them as "insiders". I mean, anyone can do that. Miss Cleo made a lot of money out of it.

Again, if it someone makes you feel like you have some "inside" track on the program, so be it. I just can't help noticing that a couple of the "insiders" here are slightly behind what is broken on other platforms. Almost like they are just a little quicker than you at reading stuff?
