@Joel Goodson posted this article that got buried in the last thread and didn't get enough talk.

Ben H is good

Absolutely sign me up for this. Seems like a guy that would kill it playing with a top tier PG.

Actually Ty was a PG last year for some time, then a 4/5, he was also a starter. Didn’t know if he was going to remain in the starting lineup seems like the only spot would be at the #2. White would also be a little undersized for a 4 but okay 👍🏼

I found its pretty interesting how FL came in and none of the insiders try to contradict what he says, and he implied that all the information we were getting was what the staff wanted to be put out. OA comes onboard and it falls silent almost immediately :ROFLMAO:
I always saw the username as FL also, but now I am convinced it is FI, as in Fighting Illini, and the 89 and 05 are then pretty obvious. Especially given the avatar.

May be off the the usual banter of the day, but I have a question for someone in the know. Is an Official Invite to a prospective recruit paid for by the college or Athletic Dept. Transportation, hotel, meals etc? I wasn't sure how this works. Thanks.

I’m very happy with my receipts on the Marcus Domask commitment.

I’m betting those chips. Mark me down as the guy who doubted Ben Humrichous. Y’all are losing your minds on this one.
At worst, he's a decent role player next year. At best, he's a really good big ten starter. Guy that is 6'9, skilled, and shoots 42% from three. There's a reason why a ton of power 5 schools want him.......

so sayeth the king of good calls. whatever, man, you're on a roll

I haven't seen anyone proclaiming that Humrichous is an alpha. But Ray Charles could see that he has the makings of a damn good piece
It can’t be understated that the classic doom & gloom shtick is coming from the same poster who said last years team wasn’t going to work & wasn’t a tournament team. In reality, the team went to the elite 8 and had the best offense we’ve seen don the orange & blue in years. Gritty, if you happen to be a gambling man please share your betting slips here so we can run to the teller & fade everything

Couple random thoughts from his videos. 1) he's lacking explosiveness, and Fletch has made some amazing progress with those types of players. 2) you typically need bigs who can pass to run the offense well, and he's got those skills. Huge bonus for his outside shooting.

Just saw on Twitter that Borzello said that in the new transfer agreement, all transfers must be in by May 1. That includes grad transfers. That will certainly expedite the process.
Honestly, at this point, it's comical that the NCAA has a say in anything. I forget that they even exist as an entity until they say so and so doesn't have any eligibility left. One day in the not too distant future power conferences will collectively laugh them off whilst delivering a noogie.

Not sure I said it wasn’t a tournament team but I definitely thought that was a risk and that it was going to be a fundamentally flawed team that was much less than the sum of its parts, parts that I recognized to be of very high quality.

I thought it was a senseless and inexplicable failure to put together the complete components of a basketball team. It really bothered me that we’d done the hard part and screwed up the easy part.

I couldn’t imagine how fluidly we’d be able to play on offense, in that sense I was completely wrong.

Assuming we add some size to the mix here, I don’t foresee those kinds of worries next year. It’s going to be a question of how a brand new roster comes together from a culture perspective I think.

Frankly, if we project Ben Humrichous as a prominent offensive focal point next year, I feel safe assuming I will be less negative and gloomy than many others. We need and are seeking a player or two here who would push Gentle Ben down the pecking order where he belongs.

I’m not doom and gloom in the slightest at the moment, to be clear. I feel like I like our portal additions thus far more than most. I’m talking myself into Tre White more by the day. The only thing he needs to change is everything, and the sky is the limit!

(I’m also at a place with BU where I’m not going to freak out if next season turns into a disaster, and I know that it would be very very different for many posters.)
