Hmmm. That interest list is....underwhelming.
Yeah I had the same thought. He's obviously super raw and hasn't done much as far as minutes or production, but he's big and seems athletic for his size. Why doesn't anybody want him? Honest question - I'm assuming there's a reason more schools wouldn't want to just take a flyer on him.

Edit - Kasean Pryor came up yesterday - is he a guy that's willing to take on the challenge of playing the 5? It seems he's similar in size to Carey Booth but if the mindset is there, he could maybe work as a stretch 5? He seems a bit more interesting to me than Mor Seck. (if we're talking about plans B through D after Onyenso)

if Ugonna is a no go, this guy is an excellent Plan B:
Looks kinda similar. Long, athletic, defensive specialist but raw offensively.

One thing to note is it looks like he tore his ACL in January. Early enough to be back for the season but still some ramp up time and may hinder his development a bit.

Honestly, if you have an open scholarship wonder if you could take both him and Onyenso and have Seck take a medical redshirt next season and develop him. Doesn't seem to have a ton of major offers.

Did next to nothing at Hawaii as a sophomore, is coming off an ACL tear and no other big programs are after him.

That’s plan D, come on you guys. We’re better analysts than this.
The article below says he plans to redshirt next year to get 100% healthy and work on his game, so he has 2 strong years to get ready for the pros. I'm all for signing up for this type of project.

It can’t be understated that the classic doom & gloom shtick is coming from the same poster who said last years team wasn’t going to work & wasn’t a tournament team. In reality, the team went to the elite 8 and had the best offense we’ve seen don the orange & blue in years. Gritty, if you happen to be a gambling man please share your betting slips here so we can run to the teller & fade everything
NOT a fan, but in his defense, he was one of the few regular doom and gloomers that didn’t dump on Domask when he was a target last year. Debate and breakdowns are great but any “fan” that flat-out doesn’t trust Underwood and continually criticizes his recruiting targets and commits, I don’t have time or energy for (ignored). Some people are just wired to be negative and project their misery online. We’ve literally been waiting decades to say Illinois basketball is back! BU has earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to recruiting. With OA back, I truly believe we’ll be regular title contenders in the expanded B1G and destined for Elite status nationally.

So we could do a great job of rehab and strength/conditioning for him, and he could enter the portal without ever playing a minute for us.

In the B1G the blocks he was making on help defense turn into assists when the shooter instead passes to the man he was guarding. Probable step down from Dain.

The 7'1" part is cool, and he is athletic.

After watching this tape of Ben, I'M more enthused. Other tapes show him as exclusively a catch and shoot this guy. This one shows a more versatile guy. Might as well get him.
Honestly just watching a pixelated version on my phone and maybe it's just the sleeve but he kind of resembles a less muscular more perimeter oriented Riley Minix.

I think you guys are confusing defensive rim protecting big and project bigs.
Pairing Ugonna with Hum would allow Hum's offense to shine while greatly reducing the issues with Hum's interior defense.

Get David Jones also and you can see the blueprint -- surround a dominant rim protector with premier offense.

It's UConn #2, and we could win a national title.

I think his visit to Champaign to starts today, right?
Anyone opposing this addition is being shortsighted and relying too much on past perceptions such as NAIA performance.

This kid can play

Our staff has demonstrated development of players and playing to their strengths (sometimes to a fault!)

Kid has size, skills, and appears to make decisions quickly (a pet peeve with some players around the country)

Sign him up please!

When's the last time a project big worked for us? I guess you could say Maverick Morgan & Giorgi would the only one's that come to mind semi recently. Mike Davis a while ago. They're usually not a very high hit rate.

Yes in my view this should definitely be plan A.

Also, let's just keep in mind we're all jumping all over any scraps of news from X or wherever because things have been pretty silent since Onyenso entered the portal - checks watch- 26 hours ago. We're on a 4 hour news cycle on this board. So for now, let's hear some more Mor Seck jokes...
