So if we do add Egor and only Egor, I’d have to imagine Ty or Tre is starting unless you push Ben down to the 3?

Jason Jakstys

What do we have in this guy coming in? I like how he runs the court.
Thanks for the post. That's a pretty decent video to watch. It is closer to real play than most highlight reels.

Watching that video:
- He has good, quick hands - similar to Coleman. He can catch on the run. He challenges passes. The look of surprise on his face when he actually gets a steal is pretty funny. Hey, what is this doing here? Oh, I should look for an outlet pass.
- His running form is really rough. He is awkward. He lumbers. He gets there. He puts in the effort. He doesn't look very fast. Still growing into his body?
- He has good instincts for timing jumps. His blocking form is terrible. He often swats down on the ball with arms fully extended. Other times he swings across the body. These are bad habits from being 6-8" taller than his opponents. He is going to be a walking foul machine as a freshman -- much worse than most.
- The same jump timing instincts seem to do well for offensive put backs. The rebounding form and timing isn't there yet.
- He mostly played below the rim player. He dunks anything close. Not with much vertical margin for error. He isn't a lob target. Fletch should help here.
- He has range out to 3. I don't think he ever took a shot other than 3 or dunk.

Only legit Illini sources on Twitter are Sturdy, Piper and Werner
You, Indy, and Lville

It’s crazy how many people believe everything they see on Twitter. I called out a guy last for basically copying info I’ve seen on multiple Illini message boards over the last two weeks and saying “per my sources” and got crucified b 4 Illini fans for questioning his expertise.

My Dad had his own CPA firm, wanted me to take it over, I said no f**king way, became a scientist instead. He never got over it. LOL

Brad is killing it in the portal. Its not just about spending tons of money like Arkansas, Memphis, KY and Indiana.

I like how our portal player have defined roles/complementary skill sets. Plus the pivot to Europe for Ivisic for a pro level 5 was a home run.

So, if all those guys are signed, does anyone think there is still zero probability that CoHawk would have no desire to run it back for a million or more? It will get him to sit down and think about it for certain. Then who knows?

Interesting comment...must have just arrived back from the space station?

JJ is signed and expected to redshirt. However, he has skills that few have at his size. With maturation, skill development, experience, self-confidence, and Fletching, he should become a solid contributor to future Illini success. In years past, he would patiently wait for that opportunity and be ready when called upon. However, in today's world of college hoops...who the heck knows? The problem is that in the past, players like him were stuck and had to be content with the developmental path. But, if they can play at a fairly high level like the MVC or MAC and enjoy the process, some cannot understand the wisdom of that path in the country's elite collegiate hoops conference.

Nice eval. Really insightful. I have seen very little of Jakstys so far but what I have seen fits your description.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a kid blossom in the program, over the next couple of years. Not a star, but an actual every day guy.

And what if he became a star? Right on!
