Even if we get KJ, which seems less like a foregone conclusion, and more like a coin flip at this point, our ceiling is pretty limited to a sweet sixteen appearance. Is that terrible? No, but we are probably talking 6-8 seed.

My perception of this season has changed to one of moderate success, but taking our best pieces from this year and adding some big name talent to fill in the gaps around it.

Senior Boswell and Ty, Juniors DGL, Booth, and Davis, Sophomores. Morez, KJ, Tomi. Freshman Jeremiah Fears. That could be a special team if you add some gaps that will most certainly occur as I'm sure this team won't be fully intact next year.

As someone who eschews playing the game and goes straight into GM/AD/Coach mode, I'm excited about year two in this two year window. Bring in a bunch of multi-year guys, find who fits and who doesn't, fill with older studs in year 2 and repeat.

I will watch this team the same way I watch my son's travel baseball team: enjoy the wins, but celebrate growth and improvement more.

You can't project two years out these days. Any or all of those guys could hit the portal after next year.

Also, calling KJ a coin flip seems overly optimistic IMO.

Assuming "year two" means year after the coming year.

If we're gonna do that - challenge for a natty - two things will need to happen IMO.

1: Keep at least 5, preferably 6 out of these 8 guys from this year's team: Kylan, DGL, Tomislav, Kasparas (assuming we land him), Booth, Morez, Tre, Ty. Hope we have the $$ for that.

2: Get that star wing - an AA level wing. The dream one for me has throughout been Dybansta but that's a 10% chance at best if not lower...

Add that star wing, bring back 6/8, and find "okay" replacements for the guys lost...

And there's no reason to believe that that team can't be REALLY REALLY GOOD!
Fears?

I like them both as well, but our need is for a ball handler when our point guard is off the floor. Kasparas is the man to play along-side as number two guard and can shift over to the point with dre coming in. we are really hurting for a second ball handler and Kasparas fills the bill. Demin is a true wing, of which we have several. Even if we land Demin we'll need another point guard.

That said, we would be fortunate to get either.
Perhaps, Demin is the primary ball handler for Real , he brings the ball up the court and initiates the offense much in the manner Domask did last season. If you get a chance to watch him play today at 10;30 on YouTube against PFBB Paris do so and you’ll see for yourself. He has tremendous court vision is an excellent passer and ballhandler. Does everything well. If there is one weakness it may be from 3 as he is struggling this tournament.
