Many of us young millenials absolutely despise ESPN. We come in troves and our age still starts with a 2. The hatred is shared with the boomers and plenty of folks in between.
ESPN sucks in 2024.

ESPN was an all-powerful manipulator, shaping opinions on sports according to their own biases and for their own benefit in 2002.

ESPN is not an all-powerful manipulator in 2024. They can barely keep the lights on in Bristol. Their agenda-setting power is dead.

I don't hate ESPN because they manipulate anything.

I hate ESPN because their programming is garbage. I grew up with baseball tonight, PTI, around the horn, and sports center actually showing highlight.

Maybe they had to pivot because highlights became so easily available online and our society has headed in a different direction but they used to at least try to cover sports topics in the past where they are now basically sports TMZ.

Their coverage of baseball and hockey is atrocious. The NBA is basically just clickbatey melodrama.

There are still millennials whose age starts with a 2?

Travis Branham on 247 says that it appears that Riley is leaning toward reclassifying and committing to Illinois. 🤣 He then gives a hot take that Riley is to thin and inexperienced to play right away! BUT - He thinks that he may be an asset later in the season! 🤦‍♂️ Apparently even guys who get paid to give their “educated” opinions can spout some uninformed hot takes!

How the heck do you guys keep up with all this generation identity crap?? How many different generation "classes" are there now? It's getting just as bad as genders.😆😆 I guess the thing now is to put everyone in their own little category box so we can attack them whenever it seems necessary. Off the cliff we go..... Oh man, that is such boomer talk

I am completely on board with this take.

There really aren't that many...

Greatest Generation
Silent Generation
Boomers
Gen X
Millenials
Gen Z
Gen Alpha

Approximately 15-20 years in length per generation.

So, 7 in 125 years. And it's definitely not a now thing. This started a long time ago.

Lol, to this boomer at least: Gen X, Millenials, etc.... they're all "kids." :)

I can't keep up either. To me there are only two "classes"; a bunch of young guys and a bunch of old baskets like Pru, 47, me, et all. Some of us are smart and some of us are ill-informed, (stupid). That seems to hold true for every class.

I find it funny how every year the regular posters in this thread pump up the newcomers and downplay the departed. Coleman would easily be the best player on next years roster if he returned.

Always been of fan of Coleman (check my history), and wish him the best of luck at KSU.
Was your avatar color always KSU purple or is that new? (Kidding)

People have been boxing generations into groups for, well... generations. And basically every generation dumps on the ones that come after them.

Branham just may be correct...not a single person knows. He certainly does not appear to be B1G ready to bang inside....yet. But he certainly does have elite talent that he needs some time to learn how to use at a higher level than he has experienced. It is just a step and every kid has to take it....but it is seldom done without some growing pains...and seldom soon enough for fans.

Keep in mind that this team is not likely to be a threat to win any hardware or make any headlines....out of the gate. There is a huge mountain to climb in order to be an efficient team. Fortunately, BU has the track record of motivating kids in that direction. What is going to be a huge factor is their willingness and adaptability to let go of the me and put we at the forefront. That takes time....for every one of these kids. Ty may be the only one who grasps that firmly....and maybe he needs to lean the other way a bit....but not much as we all love that kid and all his intangibles.

Not sure he will need to bang, though. If Kylan and KJ are the initators we expect them to be, Riley can simplify his game to finding gaps on the perimeter when they drive, or cut to open spots when they get onto booty ball situations. In those two scenarios, being an elite shot maker with length would overcome most strength deficiencies. We won't need him to be TJ driving through traffic with the way things are constructed.
