How important will "recruiting" be now that everyone is just cutting paychecks?
Indy, is TA still getting paid and if so, why?No …
Kwa is in a temporary position …
Is there a pool of assistance that they will target and go after?More important than ever … We only got Riley & Tomi because of relationships O had …
All the “elite” programs can cut the same checks for the most part … What makes you stand out above the rest ?
Relationships, Facilities, Fletch, etc …

With the de-emphasis of prep recruiting, I wonder what type of recruiters we shall bring in to replace TA in the off season. Is Chicago still important?More important than ever … We only got Riley & Tomi because of relationships O had …

Album names:pool of assistance sounds like a pretty good band name

In 2005/2006 we had two 7 footers on the floor and ran high low pretty nicely. Morez would probably be the down low guy with the two seven footers playing up top and working outside in as a forward. In certain games and matchups/situations, that could be amazing. What are we going to do w/ 2 7 footers and Morez
Huh? 2005/2006 was the last year of James Augustine who was not 7’. Are you thinking of 10/11 with Tisdale and Leonard? In 2005/2006 we had two 7 footers on the floor and ran high low pretty nicely. Pruitt was the starting center on that '06 team. But neither were 7'.Huh? 2005/2006 was the last year of James Augustine who was not 7’. Are you thinking of 10/11 with Tisdale and Leonard?

Morez isn’t either. And he was included in the original “3 7 footers” post.Pruitt was the starting center on that '06 team. But neither were 7'.
I said 2 7 footers and Morez. point being is someone wouldn't be getting much playing time.Morez isn’t either. And he was included in the original “3 7 footers” post.
I think the main point is tall, long dudes.
Ha whoops. I didn’t go back and read.I said 2 7 footers and Morez. point being is someone wouldn't be getting much playing time.
I would have loved for us to snag recruits like Juwan Howard, Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose, and Antoine Walker, but our program just couldn't compete with what the blue bloods of the college basketball world could offer these kids in their time. These recruits aren't commodities. They are people who make their own choices...for sure some with the influence of their families and coaches (and undoubtedly under the table stipends), but it isn't like anyone could have waved their magic wand and made Jahlil Okafor fall in love with John Groce's basketball program instead of Duke.In my uneducated opinion, feels like there's been a dearth of can't miss top in-state talent (especially from Chicago) in the last 5 years. Don't know if it's due to top guys leaving the area for prep schools in other parts of the country but can't remember the last time the area had an elite elite prospect (maybe Christie or DJ Steward?).
I for one don't miss the days when the Robert Smith's of the world would send us their B-level players as lip service to the state school while letting Calipari, Self and Izzo waltz in and take the truly elite prospects. I'm not saying Chicago is *unimportant* per se, but Illinois' resurgence in the last half decade coming at the same time when the level of HS recruits coming out of Chicago has fallen says its not a priority like had been in previous decades.
If big Z does come over and we retain Rez you could give 25 or more minutes per game per player. It would be a formidable task to get any rebounds or shots against them.I said 2 7 footers and Morez. point being is someone wouldn't be getting much playing time.
It all depends upon how much NIL he demands. If his ask in that department is reasonable, why not? But if he's expecting KState CoHawk money....If big Z does come over and we retain Rez you could give 25 or more minutes per game per player. It would be a formidable task to get any rebounds or shots against them.
Sorry, I meant 2004-2005 with Augustine and Ingram. They were both 6'-10" I guess. Even if they weren't a true 7'0" , I still think they did a pretty good job with the high low when they played together that year.Huh? 2005/2006 was the last year of James Augustine who was not 7’. I don't think they ran high low that much. That was not a Weber thing and Ingram was more of a shooter than a passing big. Angie can pass a bit but he low post for most of his offense. They were rarely on the court together. Ingram was mainly a backup to Augie at C. And neither was that close to 7 ft.
