Let's cool the Big Z talk. Frustrating player, and Morez is better in the post than he is.
It's been lost a bit with how bad Arkansas started but they have actually been playing well lately and it's been a lot of Davis and Z playing well as of late(outside of the Auburn game).

I am thinking about how challenging it is, or will be, to sort through a couple of thousand portal transfers. Seems like an around the clock job. Next year's success is founded on decisions made in the next 8 weeks.

If we're looking at a couple thousand kids ... That's a problem ... There are not that many kids that are good enough to play here ...

Is Donovan Dent a potential portal guy? If he is I’m guessing he’s easily a top 3 guy in the portal and probably stays out west but I can dream.

Portal guy ... Probably ... He's not a first-round NBA guy so it would be smart to capitalize on NIL ... He could probably get $1 million or more ...

Depends if Pitino gets a bigger job if he follows him or not ...

I'd love to see us look to bring in Chase Walker of Illinois State. Solid low post guy with a decent outside shot when he takes it. Good defender too.

I know you cant drop names yet...but for my own excitement (since the team has been depressing as of late)..

How would you classify the highest caliber portal guy who has back channeled ?

Potential AA..
All Big
All ACC
All Mountain West
Or All OVC...

16,4,4 every night sure would be nice to have …

Everyone was knocking the shooting and I tried to tell everyone he was playing hurt last year and needed his shoulder fixed … And just like magic he goes from 23% from 3 to 36% …
I wanted Claude when he hit the portal and was not happy when we didn’t go get him.

Very low volume (kinda just like marcus). Not some crazy lethal shooter, but better than a lot of our guys. I agree with the domask comp.

Claude worked us, but he is the main guy on a barely .500 team with a losing conf record.

Big picture.

Or, if you do like looking at smaller sample sizes, he just had 6 turnovers in a loss to Minnesota at home followed by a 7 point performance while getting throttled Maryland.

Well the other piece to this would be roster construction. At the time we were looking at Claude, we didn't have KJ yet, and it was assumed that Kylan would be our primary point guard this year. With the benefit of hindsight, you could now argue that Kylan is about third in line in the point guard depth chart, behind KJ and at this point in the year Will. (Would we even have gotten Riley later on if we already had both Claude and Tre White?). So would Claude be a good fit if it meant that Kylan is forced to be your primary point guard?

On the other hand, I can see how Claude, who is a good iso player, might have been someone that would have been really nice to have for us, as that's something I think we are lacking in. KJ is good in PnR, but I haven't been impressed by him in iso situations. Maybe Tre would have developed into more of an iso weapon if he'd been able to stay healthy and out of the doghouse?

Either way, as I've said multiple times, I really hope we can get at least 1 and preferably 2 elite iso players for next year. Need some heroes for when we inevitably resort to hero ball at times. Offensively, I'm not holding my breath that we will somehow get beyond that in the future, so I'm leaning in.

Claude would be good piece, don't get me wrong. But I don't think it was some huge fail that he ended up at USC.

Well we can't roster every team's best player, not enough spots for that, unfortunately

Would be nice though lol
Maybe our ticket for a national title is to put players on the Tim Anderson compensation plan.

We'll give you a million dollars but you can never step on a court for us or anyone else.

Stack up 25 or so of those deals and clear the field.

I have a dumb question. Is international recruiting easier than HS or portal? Maybe at best it’s marginal but I assume you have less fights to win. Assume it heavily relies on money instead of other factors.
