not sure that came out the way you wanted it. Or maybe it did....I wouldn't mind grabbing Dix.

Interesting. He'll need athletes and some really good defensive players surrounding him, but he's a great shooter.![]()

Keep an eye.
Plus, Dix is local to Creighton having gone to high school just across the Missouri River in Council Bluffs, IA. Being a hometown kid will be an advantage to Creighton. But I would not mind him on the Illini with the right pieces around him. He would have the potential to cure some of the shooting woes this year's team has had.I would put us at #2 for Dix, think Creighton is running favorite there. Along with Sarr, a guard and wing from the portal is what they are going big game hunting for.
Martinelli is a local kid who averaged 20ppg in the B1G last year and plays with grit. He'd be a no brainer take.
Does he have potential to recreate what Domask did with Booty Ball?I would put us at #2 for Dix, think Creighton is running favorite there. Along with Sarr, a guard and wing from the portal is what they are going big game hunting for.
I have to ask.....where is the hunting for frontcourt players? That's the underbelly of our roster. We have absolutely zero depth. Assuming you're pretty locked in on Morez and TI staying?I would put us at #2 for Dix, think Creighton is running favorite there. Along with Sarr, a guard and wing from the portal is what they are going big game hunting for.
Will the younger Sandfort go portalling without Fran and Payton graduating?I would put us at #2 for Dix, think Creighton is running favorite there. Along with Sarr, a guard and wing from the portal is what they are going big game hunting for
You’re not wrong, … it’s the entertainment factor that keeps that and other clear rules from being enforced consistently.Where in the rules does it allow the banging down low to push an established defender out of position? I can see the first one as incidental contact as the offensive player comes to a stop. The second one seems like an offensive foul by the rules written. What did I miss other than a "custom"? I'm not seeing this style in the NBA anymore (not that I watch much NBA).
Freeman is good. But $2M good? I just don't see that. But Tomi, Morez, and Freeman would be a great trio of bigs. 3 players to split 80 minutes of playing time (at C and PF) would arguably give each player approximately 27 minutes of p.t. every game. But I suppose that will never happen. I think that Dix would be a nice addition to the Illini via the portal. He looked good vs the Illini.
To your point…. Quite the thread in the mentions… Harding to Mizzou possibly? Dix to Creighton or Iowa State…. Man I miss pre NIL college basketball.
A. Moe Odum is good. But he/s only 6'1" tall and weighs 160 pounds. I worry he may be too small to start in the backcourt alongside 6'2" Kylan Boswell? I also like that he's a tough kid from the Bronx. And the Illini need more tough players on their roster. (2) Watkins will cost us too much NIL money for a one year rental. A poster recently said that the bidding for Watkins would START at $1M. (C) I think Big Z could work with Tomi and Morez if each player was willing to get approximately 27 minutes of playing time each game. (A 3-way split of the C and PF minutes.) But I wonder if adding Big Z from Arkansas might affect Morez's potential transfer?Throw in Big Z and call it a day.
I love Martinelli"s game. He'd be a perfect fit on the Illini. But if Collins stays at Northwestern, I don't think that Martinelli will leave for more NIL money. And if Collins did take the Villanova job, I wouldn't be surprised if he followed him to Villanova. Saying all that, if Martinelli enters the portal, he's way high on my Illinois transfer wish list.Personally, I'd sub Martenelli for Watkins (and I think he might also be a more likely option)
Dix has hitt 40% or better on 3-point shots in each of his 3 seasons at Iowa. And he seems like a try-hard, scrappy player too. He'd look good on the Illini, but Dix's hometown of Council Bluffs is right across the river from Omaha, where Creighton is located. The Bluejays will be tough to beat out.Interesting. He'll need athletes and some really good defensive players surrounding him, but he's a great shooter.
Kid's a winner! He's a smooth shooter, but it seems like he will need to add strength and mass. Dame Sarr is a similar size, but is he a bit stronger than Wagler? Are they both basically Wings?
Poneman, now there's a name I've not seen in a while! Isn't he an agent now, or at least trying to be????
What do we think of this? Of course promises made and aren’t being kept, but I’m always curious as to people who say they know put their money where their mouth is.
Was my first thought too. We will see.Poneman, now there's a name I've not seen in a while! Isn't he an agent now, or at least trying to be????
I agree on points A and C. An Odum/Boswell backcourt doesn't really excite me and Tomi/Morez/Big Z would be a great trio especially with Morez and Tomi adding weight while Big Z would provide some much needed rim protection.A.
