I agree 100% and blame lack of fire on the fact that right now, at least our team, is like an extension of an AAU team. Players playing for the next level and not for the university. I cannot stand Iowa but really appreciate what I saw at the end of the Iowa game when Payton Sandfort's heart broke as he walked down the line hugging every coach and player. The kid bled for his university. He cared. Last saw that with Trent, Demonte, Ayo and company.

Unfortunately, unless Brad can figure out how to keep players and create continuity, I fear we won't see that level of care fector.
If you don't think Shannon, Coleman, Ty and Domask cared last year, I don't know what to tell you. Sheesh.

The Illini don't want to spend millions on Freeman (he'd be a backup here), so there's no need for a package deal with Harding included. Illinois really has no use for either of them. Dix, on the other hand ...

I think Tre is a true coin flip at this point. There's interest in bringing him back from both parties, but gonna have to figure some stuff out. Will be the player to watch this offseason in terms of retaining/portal.

That probably means he'll enter the portal if nothing else but to leverage the situation.

There will be a ton of guys in the portal- we really need to find the right fits for what we want to do. So assuming we have coming back:
Kylan
Tomi
Morez
Then add Sarr

What that team will need is a three point shooter who can also create for others and be unselfish- I frankly can’t think of a better fit than Dix to be a second or third scoring option. He not only shoots 42% from three but also 57% from two, with almost 3 assists per game.

Davis, JJ, the two freshman as depth and we would really just need an experienced backup big and maybe an experienced wing to round out the team

Sarr and Dix would be a really good replacement for KJ and Will and Morez and Tomi will have a year under their belt and Kylan will be a senior PG- I think that team could go places

Not a dix fan but he could work. Need a ball dominate guard (thorton, haggerty, etc) with those you have listed.

Creighton is going to be tough to beat, but we have a shot.

Dix ain’t coming here based on what I’ve been told …

Creighton has him and they’ve also got Aleksa Dimitrijević …

Far from a done deal to Creighton. They are the leader right now though but we are in the mix.

I guess I'm the one whose going to have to say it but it sounds like there's a lot of (erectile) dysfunction with Dix.

Respectfully disagree, I have not seen selfishness or a lack of fire with this team. Rebounding requires grit and they've been one of the best.

They've had a long year and came out flat against an excellent Maryland team, in a game that really didn't matter toward our goals this year. I'm glad they got the extra rest and a great draw, and I expect them to be ready on Friday.
