Lots of teams start 2 6’2” guards. Kylan plays much bigger than he is, and Thornton (don’t know if that’s actually who we might get, but I think that’s who you’re referring to here) is a proven B1G player who has started all 3 years. I’m all about positional size, but this backcourt seems amazing to me.

Letting it be known right now that I do NOT want Bruce Thornton. That’s gross. Losing player. No no no no no.
He’s supposed to be a senior in high school. And he’s the only reason we even made it to this game. Honestly the main reason we were even respectable the last month. Even set the freshman scoring record in the tournament. Not to mention he came off the bench the first half of the year. Our “lottery” pick point guard should’ve taken some notes. I don’t think we can point fingers at will tonight.

I agree that it feels odd to have two smaller guards height wise in the backcourt anymore, but Kylan plays so much bigger and tougher than what height shows. Look at the bigger guys he’s consistently guarding and doing it well. He’s gotta be one of the best rebounding guards in the country as well. If we’ve got a smaller 2 guard starting, I’m happy it’s him.

Thornton is a good player, he's just been miscast as the go-to guy. He would sing as a third or fourth option.
I think Kylan is looking very good as our PG next year. He has gotten to be a pretty good defender and would be better in a more sensible defensible scheme (coaching). ON the offensive end, Kylan has gotten steadily better at seeing the court and finding the open guy. He has gotten steadily better at finishing at the rim. He needs to cut-down on the KJ-style turnovers, the ones that lead to transition buckets for the other team. But at this point, with the progress I've seen Kylan make, I think he is going to be a major strength for next year's team.
I would ask how old and experienced they are.
Is DB saying Boswell is the alpha we already have or there’s another alpha? So confused.
Unless we can't find a stronger post defender and or this keeps Tomi happy then I wish we could get someone besides Big Z.
