To second this, Illinois is still in a great spot for Dame Sarr. Think he ends up here still as of now.
Sincere thanks for all the info. However the paranoiac in me notices your posts went from 'not worried at all' to 'think he ends up here' in less than half an hour.

Over-parsing words I know, and recruiting is fluid. Think my central nervous system is still getting used to portal anxiety.

Not to mention the "as of now" caveat.

In my opinion (apparently these days that’s a must add caveat, lest you be accused of telling people how to feel) if there is one thing not to freak out about with BU, OA and GA it’s getting players. They have proven time and time again that they can and will land studs, even late into the recruiting cycle. This isn’t even counting for who the new assistant coach they bring in might be able to snag. The off-season doesn’t need to hinge on Dame Sarr.

We’ve all been down this road before….unfortunately I think we all know how it ends 😫

How does it end?

With KU absorbing 1M for Storr to play 15 mins off the bench all season, Maddox doing the same at Xavier, Demin having a subpar season for BYU and us landing Boswell & Tomi along with a lottery pick and another likely 1st round pick?

If so, where do I sign up?

Derek Piper said on the radio Brock Harding is looking for 800,000. Seriously? No way is he worth that and Josh Dix isn’t worth 2 mils.

If the entire budget is say 5 million (and Piper said it was 4 this season), you can’t give Dix 40% of that….The numbers being thrown out are ridiculous. Especially after Rev Share I think football is getting most of that money given they got 85 mouths to feed and produce the most revenue

Insiders have suggested the budget for next year is roughly $6.5M to $7M

I wouldn’t say Demin had a subpar year.

You are correct and there are silver linings in every missed recruit, having said that, I really don’t want to miss out on Sarr. It’s his age 19 year and I think we’ll see TSJ Jr year type production from him

You have to love fan forums... One second we are bringing everybody back and getting everybody and the next second Sarr is now going to the highest bidder and we have no shot at Dix. And we might get Bryce Hopkins. It's gold Jerry.

This is all basic quantum physics stuff. All Possibilities already exist simultaneously. So it is with, 'Everyone is coming back... and no one is coming back... and we got this guy... and we wont get this same guy." The Fan Forum teaching moment.

This fanbase gets too hung up/fixated on one player and if we don't get that player everyone freaks out. Never fails.

And he went on to have one forgettable season coming off the bench at Kansas.

Good reminder it’s not always the sexiest names that make the biggest impact. Had a couple of misses this year but overall Brad has a pretty good eye for talent and roster building as opposed to say, Woodson. May not get our first choice but with our resources we will get good players. Will see who we get and how it all fits together.

And for gods sakes fix the defense.

Big money coming in for Dame Sarr. Not just Duke. His recent play has turned heads. He already told Underwood he's coming, but the longer he waits the more $ it will cost. How much do they want to burn on one guy?

Illinois has a competitive package, but also money on the table for Ivisic and Morez Johnson.

Josh Dix will command $2m as one poster already pointed out. Kansas wants him, but Iowa is now willing to spend to retain him. Kansas was robbed blind by AJ Storr, so maybe they're gun shy about another Big Ten wing?

And a shot in the dark offer on the table for Will Riley. Lots of bread.
Here it comes . . . . FI_8905 knows . . . . FI_8905 knows . . . . .

I would love to have WR for one more year. Kansas can have Dix--to much money for him, imo.
