Always need one... PG1 goes down with an injury, lets say (or really any of the 100000000x reasons that aren't because he is playing for us next year)

I kind of feel like Boswell & Thornton would be too redundant... they'll both want to start... can we play multiple 6'2 guards for 90 percent of the game? (maybe... they're both strong/tough just lacking in height dept)
We won quite a few games a few years ago with Trent and Plummer starting...

Nojus hitting the portal this AM... cannot remember his recruiting story but was a teammate of Morez in HS at Rita before the mass exodus of Brown, Nojus and Rez.

Has also been a longtime teammate of KJ from their Lithuanian national team days...

Would be interesting to see if they kick the tires on him.

@Indy Illini Fan Any rumblings on Nojus?
Long time fan of Nojus game. Can play with KB or be the lead guard when Boz on the bench. Hope it happens.

Also had 1st AA Kofi Cockman to raise your floor, lol. Plummer was starting because dude could flat out shoot it. Should have been a better defender than he was, with that strong frame. The thought of Thornton is tantalizing though, but my preference is getting that dawg on the wing.

Lol yeah you would be fine with two 6'2 guards as long as Boswell keeps playing like he did to finish the season.

The best Illini team Ive ever seen was playing 3 guards under 6'3.

That great Baylor team that won title had a bunch of 6'2/6'3 guards. Houston and Florida both do it this year with Cryer and Sharp plus Uzan is only 6'4 playing for Houston and Florida having both Clayton and Martin listed at 6'2.

I would try to add positional size and athleticism around Boswell and Thornton but they would be completely fine.

If we can pay Kj, 1 million for 13pts. 6 turnovers per game. Pretty sure we can go after Dent!

They would both start without a doubt. They both play bigger, rebound, are experienced and are solid defenders. Personally that may be the best backcourt in the country. If Boz finishes like he finished then I'd be stoked. He started shooting it better and Thorton was around 38% from 3 last year. Both shoot FTs well. Those two would be awesome.

I think best in the country is a bit much... but I agree, my concern about height is probably a nothing burger

He won't be one of the 2 big time lands, but I think they can get him.
I apologize if someone mentioned this before but he has a brother, Always Wright, who also entered the Portal.
I'm NOT making this up.
If we can get both we're winning the National Championship. :ROFLMAO:

How many years he have left? I love another solid big guy.
I don’t recall, but I think just 1. I looked at his stats when I posted the tweet and nothing jumped out at me other than his height. Think he shot a shade over 30% from 3 on fairly limited attempts. I think he was a shade under a block a game too. He only averaged about 20 mpg, so his per 40 minute stats likely aren’t too bad. Being that he can shoot the 3 a little, could possibly play with Morez in the time he does play if wanted. Think it is fair to assume he’d give us more than Booth did, so if he leaves not a bad replacement. I do like that he was a starter last two seasons.

I know it's early but who do we think are our realistic/dream options to transfer in?

I'm dreaming of Isaac McKneely . How realistic is he?

Also, Adrian Wooley looks pretty good...
Sounds like McKneely isn't realistic for the Beloved. I've heard Carolina, Maryland, and Kentucky are options for him. *shrug*

If Kylan plays like he did the last month or like in the tourney where he played unreal during 14-22 & 5-9 from 3, on D and Thorton already is All Big 10 then they would certainly be amoung them. I'd love them as our backcourt.

I agree and they would have positional size and would be a match up problem because of their physical frame and strength. Van Gundy even call Boz a power guard! I liked that. They are not like Domask but much faster, can finish through contact, and even play a little booty ball using the size.

His percentages did increase each season and it looks as if he can dribble ok. If he is All conference I would think some things he does dont show up in a stat sheet.

That’s Ok, we can’t take everyone that’s in the portal. We only need a backup C, a premier shooting guard and Sarr. If Ty can be that role player that can back up both Morez and Bam, we will be set. We do not need much to reload.

WCC isn’t exactly brimming with centers, but point taken. I will say I “saw” him play against Oregon Stare, but he didn’t leave an impression good or bad. Certainly doesn’t look like a bad pick up for the role he’d play here.

Sometimes the info age is a great thing. As someone who would cut out box scores from the news gazette and study them because that's all we had back then... This is great, among all the other metrics
lol. I did that, too, and think about it occasionally. Never dreamed as a 10-year-old of the information riches that would shower upon me in middle age like manna to a hungry man.

This guy committed to Oregon State last portal season before reversing course and going to Minny. Was injured for all (most?) of season with a foot injury I think. If I recall correctly, from a MAC school (Toledo maybe) and was quite the stats stuffer. I was looking forward to seeing him in Beavers’ uniform because his stats seemed to indicate he’s got some Dog in him.

For a backup big, how about Oscar Cluff from S Dakota State? 17.6/12.3/2.8 with eFG of 64%. He only took six 3 pointers, but made 4. It looks like he might need to tighten his handles, as he averaged 2.2 TOs in 27.7" per game. 6'11" and 255 lbs from Australia.
