With respect, Eff their inner circles. That's not how a competent leader manages. That's called getting stepped on and over.

Just honor your word. The other part is still very much true. The supporting staff is not seen as competent, and Coach overplayed a bricklayer.

Rumors that some Illinois players have issues with Tyler. Nothing concrete. No examples given. But it's out there.

Not saying he won't have suitors and I wanted him back, but wouldnt a top tier program prefer one of these mid major stud bigs with a jump shot over Morez? Curious where he will end up and how different it will be.

This is what happens when you play Ben Humrichous over a talent that is going to be All-Conference Floor/All-American ceiling good by the time his college career is over.

This is avoided if he plays as much as he deserved from Day 1, not halfway thru the year.

In this day and age, it's all about managing the egos of players, and FAR more importantly, their respective inner circles.

Hate to be blunt, but this was 100% avoidable. And our staff continues to fumble these situations. Mind-boggling and beyond frustrating.
This x 1000. Morez’s minutes early on when he was clearly an impactful player were comical.

Feels like a family influence situation…maybe similar to Storr.

I’m disappointed but we’re not sunk. We’ll get a rock solid replacement. More money to spend on others that are a better fit for our system.

This type of BS is going to destroy college basketball.

College was always different from pro sports. You didn't have the constantly changing rosters. You were able to say I've got 4 years to watch these guys develop. I can get excited about next year because this guy(s) will take the next step.

Let's be honest, the quality of play in college basketball is FAR below that of the NBA. If you take away the aspect of watching a team develop, what's left? You better hope your team has enough NIL to buy a good roster every year. But we've seen it, Kansas has seen it, and many others, when you are out there fighting for guys trying to scrape out every possible penny, it is not uncommon to end up with a locker room problems, and its not possible to run and advanced system when everyone is new. It leads to a lesser product across the board.

Anyone shitting on Brad or anyone in the program over this is stupid. Morez is bailing on the team after being offered a ton of money and a key role. It a doesn’t work out leaving your comfort spot. These kids have some terrible ppl in their ears. He isn’t worth 2 million just to make it clear.

Well I'm not saying I won't watch our Illini and college basketball next year.....but this sort of thing sure makes it more and more less likely. I've been a big follower of college hoops since I was 12-13 years old...this portal system is destroying the college game as we know it.....to bad...🤮
