At least we still have Hamer.....Zero.Loyalty.Anymore.
Speechless. Had an NIL signed for over a month. Unreal.

Rumors that some Illinois players have issues with Tyler. Nothing concrete. No examples given. But it's out there.
This x 1000. Morez’s minutes early on when he was clearly an impactful player were comical. This is what happens when you play Ben Humrichous over a talent that is going to be All-Conference Floor/All-American ceiling good by the time his college career is over.
This is avoided if he plays as much as he deserved from Day 1, not halfway thru the year.
In this day and age, it's all about managing the egos of players, and FAR more importantly, their respective inner circles.
Hate to be blunt, but this was 100% avoidable. And our staff continues to fumble these situations. Mind-boggling and beyond frustrating.
Name a college coach who will not recruit over any player if they have the opportunity.I mean, Brad has no loyalty to his players so? He recruits over them regularly. Why would they trust him when he says things like expanded role...etc
Disclaimer: I love the guy—he's an absolute DAWG who brings the edge and toughness.
AgreeThis type of BS is going to destroy college basketball.
College was always different from pro sports. You didn't have the constantly changing rosters. You were able to say I've got 4 years to watch these guys develop. I can get excited about next year because this guy(s) will take the next step.
Let's be honest, the quality of play in college basketball is FAR below that of the NBA. If you take away the aspect of watching a team develop, what's left? You better hope your team has enough NIL to buy a good roster every year. But we've seen it, Kansas has seen it, and many others, when you are out there fighting for guys trying to scrape out every possible penny, it is not uncommon to end up with a locker room problems, and its not possible to run and advanced system when everyone is new. It leads to a lesser product across the board.
he will make twice what we were going to give him in the portal for a team that will play him what he deserves from Day 1Respectfully, they were prepared to start him and give him seven figures next season after he started a crap ton of games AS A FRESHMAN BIG.

Love Morez and he's an amazing player but two million plus for a non shooter big isn't realistic when we already have Tomi.he will make twice what we were going to give him in the portal for a team that will play him what he deserves from Day 1
At least we still have Hamer.....
Anyone shitting on Brad or anyone in the program over this is stupid. Morez is bailing on the team after being offered a ton of money and a key role. It a doesn’t work out leaving your comfort spot. These kids have some terrible ppl in their ears
Well I hope Brad can wheel them inMake no mistake, this sucks, but now you can go all in on building around Tomi next year and a bunch of money freed up.
99% there. This just isn't sustainable for the NCAA.. Water will have to find it's level or people will lose interest in college sports. Such a bummer man.
Did you sign Sarr?I was hoping this would be done while I was traveling this week … Guess not …![]()
