How does Whitman turn a blind eye to issues the players have with Tyler and what he says to some of the players? Awful lot of whispers out there for it to be completely made up. And how can Whitman be pleased that Hamer is back after two years of, let's just say, *rough* defense?
Umm what kinds of things is he saying? Like going over the line?

Looking past Morez being gone, if we lock up
Tomi
Kylan
Tre
Sarr

And get Big Z, a SG three point threat (Conwell, Dix would be the big fish) and a back up big in the portal, I’m not sure I feel any worse about next year. Plus we have another million to make that happen now, we should have plenty of budget to get that done

I'll let the overreactions occur. It sucks for a number of reasons, but dad got involved and things went sideways. They have a plan and things will be fine. People can feel free how they want to but saying Brad is on the hot seat is a complete and utter joke.
Do you feel BU playing little ben over 'Rez was or was not a problem? How about having Hamer in charge of this putrid defense? If Tyler is causing problems with the players, do you see that is not a problem, too?

I do think BU deserves his accolades and a chance to coach next year. I also know all programs have their issues, but don't you think these issues need to be addressed?

At this point, wishful thinking is a generous statement.

I think with each gut-wrenching transfer, in this new NIL era, I further convince myself that there isn't loyalty in any aspect of college basketball anymore.

I would trade 10 years of Brad and Son's experiment for 3 more years of Morez Johnson Jr and players like him!

In my uneducated eyes, Morez is worth 2 million and Brad and son are worth 500,000.

If this new NIL era brings anything into perspective, I hope it's that coaches salaries like Brad and Son's are too much.

Let's hire a badass D3 coaching staff and spend the money on PLAYERS!

Kind of out of Brads hands. Tomi wants to be here. Wants to come back. They are talking $$$ right now. Comes down to ponying up form someone.
I mean unless Will comes back Tomi would be the most valuable. I don't want to hear Dame Sarr either because something something bird in a bush. Retaining talent gets deeper runs

As much as I love Brad and the memories his teams have provided me, his inability to retain players and specifically a kid from the state who grew up rooting for Illinois is very very concerning, if truly Ben starting was the reason that makes it even more concerning because my 12 year old nephew didn’t even understand his presence in the starting line up. He’s only 12.

Posted earlier that a bunch of people have pointed to Tyler calling DGL a derogatory term in practice, and the players were not happy about that at all. He's also in a bad spot with Rez's dad apparently.

I honestly don't think he was a great fit for what they were trying to do this year - but it's really bad optically to lose him after he was committed here for so many years... We really look like a burn and churn facility currently.

This is what happens when you play Ben Humrichous over a talent that is going to be All-Conference Floor/All-American ceiling good by the time his college career is over.

This is avoided if he plays as much as he deserved from Day 1, not halfway thru the year.

In this day and age, it's all about managing the egos of players, and FAR more importantly, their respective inner circles.

Hate to be blunt, but this was 100% avoidable. And our staff continues to fumble these situations. Mind-boggling and beyond frustrating.
Spot on! Just think how much better we would have been if Morez and Will were getting starter type minutes or equivalent minutes to the starters.

How thankful are we all that Josh makes these decisions and not tambo

We are blaming the free market.

Brad always plays the older guys regardless of if they are better, and what happens to the real talent.
