I said all season long why is Brad playing HumHouse over Morez???? I told my wife if this continues Morez and his Dad would leave Champaign. Morez never looked happy this season at all. NO Tim Anderson and Ty Rodgers his best buddy redshirted a dude who they went to the same high school. These was no joy for Rez this season and he had to watch Brad trot out HumHouse in the starting lineup. Morez made his mind up about this way long ago he just played his hand close to the vest smart young man. Wish him the best he will break that trend of guys leaving us and becoming busts kid is gonna develop and be a savage for somebody next season.

Do you think that Brad is the one writing the checks? He has to manage an entire roster and all he can do is play with the money he's provided. Not any of these coaches faults. The players, lawyers and agents run the show and the NCAA is helpless to stop it. No coach should ever take heat for this garbage. The courts got involved and now the horses are out of the barn.

Seriously?

Welcome to a job making $6M annually. People deal with these same things making $200k annually.

Yet the Boilers play in a few moments with a chance to advance to the Elite 8....while we watch and !!!!! about the portal system, etc
Yes and they caught breaks like we did last season. Not saying we didn’t have a good draw but most reasonable people saw the Kentucky game as a toss up. Purdue made the best of good fortune. Now if they beat Houston then they will have my attention.

The time to develop individual skills is during the off season. When you are part of a team, during the season, you sacrifice personal goals for winning.
This idea that he would never be allowed to shoot because he is tall falls apart very quickly when you realize our current starting center averaged nearly 5, 3 point attempts per game and took 12 of them in our last game.

Ok whatever you say. Brad hasn’t been good at anything except getting lucky Terrence Shannon Jr didn’t get into scUM. Brad is at the beginning of the end of his tenure as University of Illinois head Men’s basketball. The things that are happening in basketball program are disturbing to say the least.

We are sitting here discussing this. And meanwhile Michigan State rallies to defeat Mississippi to advance to the Elite 8.

Trying to bite my tongue. Typical characters doing what they do. Both sides are at fault a little bit here but everyone fully blaming the staff doesn't know what the heck they are talking about.
Sorry to reply to an older post but i am never gonna get caught up.

When Shannon's banner was upside down, Whitman took responsibility. We all know Whitman wasn't the guy, but he took responsibility and went out and ate crow publicly.

It doesn't matter if people know what they are talking about. Brad and his people need to shut up, take responsibility, and get it right. The buck stops with him, and the only person who has to think his seat is hot is Whitman, who we know knows how accountability works.

You were concerned about the wrong guy. The one who should have started over Ben was Will Riley. Lessrez does not fit a 5 out offensive scheme at all besides his ability to rebound for our terrible shooting.

Being an avid and long-term Morez fan, if you asked me who I needed to build around for next year to be successful, and I had to choose Morez or Tomi and lose the other. I'd choose Tomi, knowing it meant Morez walking away.

He's a more dynamic player and influences the game on different levels. Morez is a guy that will be great, and I'm sad knowing we won't see that development happen here. It's even worse knowing it's a kid from Chicago who committed at 16, moved up the rankings, and hung with us.

However, Morez won't be the guy that wins you a title, but it's really hard to win one without a guy like him. The next month or two are gonna be really interesting.

There's a quote from Kofi saying that he'd like an expanded role, but Brad's only using him to win, not improve. Seems to be a common concern. It's a fair argument from both sides. Brad is here to win now, Morez is here to develop into a professional player.
In what universe is Kofi a 3 point threat and what coach doesn’t put his players in positions where they have the most success?

Great point. And I believe most of the roster is made up of Indiana high school alumni. They play great high school basketball in Indiana. But I think Illinois high school basketball is better.

Rubs YOU the wrong way. Maybe Morez has higher hopes for himself. Actually, I think he DOES have higher hopes.

Do I share his optimistic view? Nope.

But we --- you and me -- don't get to make that call.

Know who could have kept Morez on our squad? Brad Underwood. He didn't accomplish his mission.

According to Morez himself, he is leaving because he is “more than a rim runner and rebounder and wants to get more than just that” he also said he didn’t want to end up like Kofi. Essentially sounds like he think of himself much higher than anyone else does
Does the Johnson family really believe Kofi could've been a stretch 4 or 5 shooting 3's, or that Ty is a good shooter?
