This is just bad from both sides.

On the side of Morez and dad, let’s be real please. All of that is just a smoke screen for you leaving for more money. Period. The. End.
If Morez suddenly start’s shooting 3’s and making them, we can all eat crow, but Kofi? And Dain?? Come on man.

On the staff side, you can’t stop something like this these days, but also you’ve got some serious issues.
Running it back with Hamer and Tyler if even half of the rumors are true is absolute program malpractice.
If Hamer, Baby Brad, and Jones are back next year I will withdraw my monetary support to the U of I program. PERIOD

I've wasted more hours of my life following basketball recruiting/building the next years Illini roster more than any human should in their life, I loved it.

This is it for me I can't do it anymore I have no idea how these coaches do it. Wake me up when the roster is set.
I concur..............I now just skip to the last 1-2 pages of a thread as I usually am 10-20 pages behind and don't want to read every post anymore.....let me know when the roster is done or almost done as I have my medded up life needs back.....

I really really do...........

Regarding Hamer and Tyler, it almost seems like Underwood is keeping them to prove that he has the power. Its a huge middle finger to those who dare presume to criticize him.

You still need a name from this century
There are guys in college that are there to rebound and play D. Houston had a guy last night. Rez is a good college player that is loved by Illini fans. He avg 7pts game and I believe 6 boards. He will improve too but he can most certainly be replaced by someone like Houston had or Pharrel Payne that transfered that as at least as good. Rez is not an NBA 4 or certainly not a 5. I enjoyed watching him and it won't be easy to see him elsewhere as he improves but he can certainly will be replaced. We will be fine.

Would be as ideal as it comes when adding wing scoring in this offense. If we think about all the open looks we generated for Ben this kid would have changed the outcome of a few games by himself just shooting at his career percentage.

From one of my favorite names towns in the continental US. Good ol' Poca, WV.
Similar to Miller Hopp when he was a corner 3pt shooter for NU ... many open looks but too few made 3s.

This is what happens when you play Ben Humrichous over a talent that is going to be All-Conference Floor/All-American ceiling good by the time his college career is over.

This is avoided if he plays as much as he deserved from Day 1, not halfway thru the year.

In this day and age, it's all about managing the egos of players, and FAR more importantly, their respective inner circles.

Hate to be blunt, but this was 100% avoidable. And our staff continues to fumble these situations. Mind-boggling and beyond frustrating.
Agree Sir...well said and what is in my head....

For those of us who avoid X, can someone share what Leonard has to say here?
Basically players should be more willing to own the need to improve and stick it out instead of bailing for cash/playing time when things don't go how they expected.

Also prefaces that he doesn't know what NIL and the portal are like first hand, so hedged a bit. Also seems a little undercut since he left early for money (NBA), where guys now may never be NBA caliber and this is the one chance they have to get a real payday without going overseas, etc.

To me, losing Podz bc he wasn't "good enough to play" was a miss. Losing Morez, who was one of the more exciting and dynamic players on the team for nearly the same reason is malpractice and setting a pattern. (I.e. not letting these kids just play free and loose, or getting enough play time) I hate it. Morez, who my kids affectionately named "Big Baby" due to his side ponies was a fault favorite this year. I'm super bummed, and in combination with another underwhelming season, the possibility of the staff not getting retooled, and having constant roster turnover, I'm just about done with the BU Era. (And I love the guy)
