Your just one person and have dealt with a couple as most. It is a policy that inplace can avoid issues and if the family member is skilled they can find a other job. If you own your own business that your passing on to your child that's a different story.

I think it’s fair to assume that the majority of y’all in here have the best knowledge about our program and our recruits than anyone else. Do we really want Dix? Something in my gut is telling me we shouldn’t but I obviously have 0 contribution to the final decision

Agreed, but he has a top 3 offense last year.

This year, top 15... but could've been better if we shot less 3s

The solution is to fire him?

It has nothing to do with performance … Tyler needs to find another job or he should be fired …

And the offense wasn’t good this year … I don’t care what the analytics say …

Last year any coach could've finished with a top 5 offense with that team …

When the coach and program are funded like a top-15 program, we should be expecting these results, plus more. I also think the portal era almost needs to be looked at apart from his earlier success. The TSJ E8 run is sandwiched around some pretty questionable evals and roster construction. This season will be fairly telling how we move forward.

There is also the very real possibility that programs who lean into the portal approach are going to be much more boom/bust from year to year in general.

Why does firing someone have nothing to do with their performance?

That is an insane thing to say

There are many on this board that have expressed that they like Dix.

I don't but the way things are going, we might not have much of a choice.

I'd agree. If he's out of pocket with players and other coaches, that's part of performance, even if his scheme is good.

Anyone have a link/screenshot of the exact rumors floating around about that? I've been through the pages here but only see references. Something more concrete would be nice.

We firing people because rumors now? Let's let them handle it internally rather than lynch people based on things we know nothing about

You can be fired for not being a good fit for the company, too. That's how at will employment works.

If a junior coach is driving away talent and more senior coaches who bring that talent in, it's time to A) correct the behavior and B) remove him if corrective measures don't work.
