If someone is not a culture fit and causing problems … You remove them, even if they’re good at what they do …

It’s really not that insane … It’s that no one person is bigger than the team/program/company … Whatever example you want to give …

And in this case it just so happens to be the coaches son who has done nothing to deserve the position he’s in, so it just adds fuel to the fire for many …
Top 3 offense. Top 15 offense.

I’d say he’s done a little something to deserve it.

It sounds like both Morez and Tre wanted roles within the offense that suited their pro aspirations and less so within the offensive system designed to benefit the team as a whole. And if both players feel their futures depend on getting that freedom at other schools, they absolutely should leave. But the recent litter grounds of transfers past show way more inflated, unrealized dreams than any true success stories. Only Podz has blossomed post Illini-days.
Tre had better figure it out pretty soon. He's running out of programs.

Is this the rumor? Tyler told them they couldn't have free reign to shoot mid range jumpers so now he must be fired?

I really want to see this rumor lol I'm tilting badly over here

He’s done nothing to deserve the position he’s in … I’ll say it again …

Tyler has had absolutely ZERO experience worthy of being an assistant here …

You don’t start your career at the University of Illinois … That ain’t how this 💩 works …

He’s gotten everything handed to him …

I'm just throwing this out there even though I don't believe in Ben and I don't want to keep Hamer-

Starting next year there will be 15 total scholarship roster spots, does it really matter if one goes to Ben in a non-starter role? The Illini under Underwood have been pretty lean roster-wise, so lean we use the transfer portal to get walk-ons.

Before we get rid of Hamer, we still have Kwa occupying Tim Anderson's spot. Do people just assume Brad will demote Kwa back down? Is that a done deal? Because I feel like I haven't seen enough talk on the concerning possibility that Kwa is keeping that spot and a real indication of the coaching clown show.
My belief is that it does matter if one goes to Ben because it allows Brad to play him more than he rightfully should see the court.

as could have been predicted from a mile away beforehand, BU promoting his son to an AC position on his staff is causing problems.

love JW, but ultimately this falls on him. shouldn’t have let it happen

I tend to agree with this … I was fine with Tyler in his director of scouting role or whatever it was … That was fine by me and I think many here …

I wasn’t and I don’t think many were fine with the promotion to Assistant Coach and the promotion to Offensive Coordinator … And I don’t like seeing Brad only talk to Tyler all game …

Just as I wasn’t fine with Lovie hiring Miles for LBs coach …

Can’t believe people here are defending nepotism. Anyone with half of a brain could have had a top offense with this team and last year’s team.

JW should make a policy against this moving forward

Im going to be honest, there is a bit too much reliance on “insiders” sometimes… it’s beneficial when we get some background information, but the end results are rarely correct… Lville treats it with respect and ensures the uncertainty in everything… not sure why this “insider” throws outlandish opinions, that they often assert as fact, endlessly to freak out the fan base because of broad “he said” “she saids”. Underwood has his coaching issues. But the guy lead illinois to an elite 8 in arguably the most tumultuous season in illinois history, then the youngest team in the big ten without any top 25 votes to a 6 seed and a tourney win despite endless ailments. The gossip goes beyond the reality in my opinion

Does not excite me. Watched him in HS. Limited offensively.
