No guarantee that IU is getting Conwell …
texas insiders sounded pretty confident on this. I think hes worth 2 million instead of dix.

keep in mind coach devries was the coach @ drake when indiana st was the best team in the MVC that yr. along with conwell being the best G in the conf.

He’s done nothing to deserve the position he’s in … I’ll say it again …

Tyler has had absolutely ZERO experience worthy of being an assistant here …

You don’t start your career at the University of Illinois … That ain’t how this 💩 works …

He’s gotten everything handed to him …
I honestly think these are valid points. And as you typed, if BU wants to stay the course, and things don't improve, then he should be held accountable. It's a fair take even for Pro-BU supporters, no?

Another thing is that he is getting paid a lot of money. He's not getting paid this much to be mediocre when things could be better. Let's wait and see who BU and staff can get here, and hopefully, can put together an Elite season.

But he’s literally made it work. He’s had highly successful offenses, regardless of how he got there. He may or may not have earned the initial hire, but he’s clearly proven his value since.

It sounds like both Morez and Tre wanted roles within the offense that suited their pro aspirations and less so within the offensive system designed to benefit the team as a whole. And if both players feel their futures depend on getting that freedom at other schools, they absolutely should leave. But the recent litter grounds of transfers past show way more inflated, unrealized dreams than any true success stories. Only Podz has blossomed post Illini-days.

We're assuming that the Johnsons in this case are reliable narrators. I think there may be some truth to him wanting to develop different skills, but I think the crux of the issue is that we didn't play ball with TA (I'm not super bothered by that if it was just money at fault because you don't let an employee put you over a barrel like that; if some of it was Tyler/Hamer, too, that's the first red flag on them) and played Ben over him (that ish irritates me, but I'm not on the bench to plead my case). I think Morez was looking for a reason to go and the development angle (and the bag of cash) was his justified reasoning on the way out the door.

I'm more bothered by Tre. Dude came off the floor in the last game saying he wanted to run it back in orange and blue. If you read between the lines on our insider posts, it's been said that it's due to issues other than money. The other obvious issue at play with our team is coaching, namely that two guys were promoted when they perhaps shouldn't have been.

I think BU needs to take a close look at his staff and how they interact with players. He needs to take some blinders off and realize that if his coaches won't make the corrections he wants, those aren't guys who should be on his staff (even if they share DNA).

It has nothing to do with performance … Tyler needs to find another job or he should be fired …

And the offense wasn’t good this year … I don’t care what the analytics say …

Last year any coach could've finished with a top 5 offense with that team …
There's more to this than just coaches son and performance- can you actually lay out why he should find another job or be fired? This insinuates something about how he's coached or stuff he's done or said that is problematic...

And if Tyler doesn't mesh with the culture Underwood is trying to instill, that's a real problem because it's um.. his own flesh and blood

It’s a problem … Brad can either fix it or he can roll with it but if he rolls with it and doesn’t have success in March next year … He should be prepared to be fired come season end and he can take his boy and leggings boy with him …

Tre will be on his fourth school in four years. Occam’s razor would indicate the problem lies with him.

My only comment about current situation. I know at least 3-4 big donors that say they are done if Hamer and Tyler are not gone or have GREATLY diminished roles.

I was told some time ago that Brad was open to that happening. Now comes the crap or get off the toilet time for Brad.

I think it’s fair to assume that the majority of y’all in here have the best knowledge about our program and our recruits than anyone else. Do we really want Dix? Something in my gut is telling me we shouldn’t but I obviously have 0 contribution to the final decision
We should want Dix in the right roster construction. He’ll be a senior SG that doesn’t turn the ball over, really good shooter that can shoot off the dribble as well as catch and shoot, good cutter and can finish at the rim- perfect complement to Kylan in my mind - two seniors that know how to play and take care of the ball. Pair him with a slasher like Sarr at the SF and he’s a perfect fit

Dix Shot 38% on off the dribble 3s and 44% on catch and shoot 3s. Plus shooter inside the arc. Shot 48% on pull-up 2-point jumpers. Efficient in the paint where he shot 60% on paint 2s away from the rim and 70% on shots within four feet of the rim

He’s not good defensively so you want to surround him with guys like Kylan, Ty, Sarr that can guard the other teams best player - but he will be a large value add to any offense

Briella Bielema was born in 2017... so, we have about 18 years until she could be appointed Offensive Coordinator. If Bret were so inclined.

I wonder if it may have more to do with Tyler's philosophy on how to run offense and allowing it that Tyler the person. The fact that Tyler is his son and Brad let's him makes this a bigger issue. That's one reason I don't believe you should be able to hire your kids unless you own the company yourself. Tyler being his kid only throw fuel on the fire if there is a disagreement and having a policy no allowing it would nip it in the bud.

Again, what talent has been driven away that has had more success elsewhere? Dain and Podz are the only two, and both took steps down in class to do so.
You're moving the goal posts. I don't think being more successful is relevant to my statement. Talent = we wanted them and had a role for them. If they're opting to move on because they have an issue with a junior staff member that no amount of money can resolve, that's an issue the head coach and AD need to untangle, starting by straightening out the staff.

They went on worse teams/smaller schools for bigger roles. But doesn’t mean they couldn’t have developed into better players and collectively moved the team forward had they stayed.
They went to those teams because the good teams didnt want them foe the role they wanted. Some have publicly said they regret leaving. They have to want to stay in order to be kept and developed.
