Ah hell.. give me Dix (twss).. I don’t think he’s worth whatever the price is but taking him from away from the Squakeyes seems like a win and we can take any win we can get.

Well said. I've been on some type of Illinois message board since 1996, I believe the Big Ten actually ran them at the start. There have always been good insiders; however, I never seen one that tries to self-promote himself as much as I have seen by one on here over the last few years. I know for a FACT, that many things claimed by this person with regards to his connections and access to JW, BU, etc. are not true. However, this person can post what they want but if you take this person's word on everything as all fact than you are not really getting an accurate assessment of the truth.

Morez is the sort of 4 year guy progams build their foundations upon. Now our program needs to put in a new foundation.

College sports is completely broken. I can't understand why the NCAA wants things to be this way. Its ridiculous. NIL money needs to start being a 2 year commitment and we need to get back to sitting a year out before you transfer.

Mmmm... the NCAA did not want or do this, and actively fought this for years (maybe for selfish reasons, but they did nonetheless). It was an army of leeches (agents, lawyers, etc.) and their mouthpieces in the sports media that pushed the narrative about the athletes deserving to get paid (while ignoring the fact that they get free rides, room and board, etc., which is worth $100,000s, especially if actually used right) that got us here.

Many people, like me, warned this whole NIL charade will destroy college sports, and turn it into de facto professional minor leagues.

NIL (as the pretend mechanism for paying student athletes) will completely destroy college sports, and I think legalized unchecked gambling/betting will end up destroying professional sports.

Very sad to see Morez leaving...we, too, after giving over 300,000 to the Illini and money to ICON are leaving basketball, too. Josh must be asleep to allow Underwood to wreck our basketball team...Nepotism is not allowed in many large companies; so why is it allowed at the U of I?

These kids get run off. Lazy coaching not wanting to invest and develop these kids, especially in the mental and emotional space, imo.

Easier to just go to the portal to try again to find what you need.
Let's be honest. Dain, from October to March 1st(2024) wasn't exactly a max effort guy. When March rolled around and the BTT and NCAAT rolled around, he was 100% engaged and we saw his full potential.

We got Dain as a transfer. Memphis is his third stop and it looks like March of 2024 might have carried through the 2024-25 season.

And that’s the problem. I am disenfranchised with the product as it is today. I watched less than half of the Illini games this season because I just didn’t care about all these new kids. And it’s not going to get better next year….or the year after that.

I know that nobody cares, but I just don’t enjoy a college basketball product that just shuffles the deck every season. I am probably in the minority and the money will still flow without me. It just bums me out.
