College sports or just college basketball? Basketball has always been the most individualistic revenue sport so of course the impacts of the constant transfers will be more greatly felt. Football of course has a good number of transfers in the portal but with bigger roster sizes of course the number will be high. Successful programs and coaches have been able to maintain a good level of roster continuity. Bielema deserves all the credit in the world for building a football program that's been able to keep a majority of its players year after year in today's landscape.3. I’m not surprised at all, but this new nil world is really killing my interest in college sports. The revenue sharing model will make it worse, imo. Any association with the school itself is becoming a clownish fallacy. I’m totally in support of athletes benefitting from their nil, but it has to be on a more sustainable structure.
College sports is completely broken. I can't understand why the NCAA wants things to be this way. Its ridiculous. NIL money needs to start being a 2 year commitment and we need to get back to sitting a year out before you transfer.Welcome to the Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

Boswell4Three- the key question is what kind of breakfast sandwich did Dix order at McD?where do we stand with dix?
The people I have perceived to be insiders share so much credible information that it will be a real shame if the A-holes drive them away from this board. I hope that doesn't happen.
In business I mostly agree, fear of burning bridges and references, but these guys might not care about that, especially if there is any truth to some of the rumors. No one learns anything from an exit interview.
I understand your sentiment…but if the NCAA had their druthers they wouldn’t have changed a damn thing most likely. I’m sure they didn’t “want” to do anything.College sports is completely broken. I can't understand why the NCAA wants things to be this way. Its ridiculous. NIL money needs to start being a 2 year commitment and we need to get back to sitting a year out before you transfer.
I don't think the NCAA wants it this way. Their hand was forced through the courts. The issue is that they never made substantive changes over the years before, and so they were totally unprepared to adapt. Thus, we have the Wild West of the current landscape. Changes need to be made, but the "how" is the issue. There are no easy solutions that will hold up through the courts.College sports is completely broken. I can't understand why the NCAA wants things to be this way. Its ridiculous. NIL money needs to start being a 2 year commitment and we need to get back to sitting a year out before you transfer.
The courts have already said no to that.College sports is completely broken. I can't understand why the NCAA wants things to be this way. Its ridiculous. NIL money needs to start being a 2 year commitment and we need to get back to sitting a year out before you transfer.
Probably DGLWonder who's going to enter the portal today?![]()
You mean a drunken , late night trip to Mickey D’s won’t seal the deal? What’s this world coming to?If I hear Kansas or another big-name program is in on a transfer I assume we're not getting him.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not going to draw conclusions off one picture/tweet of Dix waiting for McDonalds and Bos not even in the picturetwitter feed looming of dix at McDonalds with Bos boozed up along side
Probably still want to build up relationships with recruits, even if they are not coming into the program now. Might help in recruitment when they are in the portal (though money still trumps everything).yea, not sure why we bother recruiting prep players anymore given todays world & how Brad likes to see his program in it
